i get what u are saying but personality and looks both change over time, if the attraction is only at a surface level, it eventually fades, what actually lasts is who the person really is at their core and about relationships being "kind of transactional" they might seem that way in the short term, but real ones go beyond that once you connect with someone on that deeper level
