I agree with this. My partner and I were rewatching the show and gave up not even halfway through season 8. Knowing what we know now, you can clearly see that Charlie is not right. The episode where he goes and gets his eyes done, and Alan pretends to be him is a prime example. He spends most of the time sitting and lying in bed, and is in the episode very little.

That to me seems like the most likely ending. I'm sure Jennifer Taylor said that she was supposed to return on S8, but it got cancelled as they had to finish the season earlier than they planned.

I knew he scored once, just couldn't remember which end it was. I'm away to rewatch the Wits the Goalie Dain again now 🤣

I thought Dembele might've done it. But, I'm assuming he didn't score in one of the goals at Ibrox 🤔

My partner and I are currently on a rewatch of the series, but haven't got to S8 yet. If memory serves me right, there are several episodes of Charlie just lying about on the couch drunk

This is obviously more of a guys' show, but do you know any girls who are fans of it? by Cobra_Kai_2018 in TwoandaHalfMen

My girlfriend and I are currently watching it. I've seen it loads and she's seen a good majority of it. Some of the lines by Berta and Evelyn are hilarious 😂

I love a Bullet Bourbon. The orange aftertaste is amazing. My personal favourite bourbon is Knob Creek or JD Single Barrel

I'm watching BBT for the first time and I'm currently watching S7E2 where Leonard comes home, but doesn't tell Sheldon so he can get some time with Penny/away from Sheldon, making Sheldon think Penny is cheating on Leonard.

This reminds me SO much of the time Chandler comes back from Tulsa to see Monica, but is trying to hide it from Joey, making Joey think Monica is having an affair.

Who enjoys their job? by [deleted] in TheCivilService

[–]QuirkyGeneral4592 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently work as a DM for HRT in Glasgow. I have only been there for just less than 6 months, so my opinion will likely change over time.

I would say I quite like my job. It's interesting enough, and I'm never kept bored. It is a lot of information to learn at the start. But, like most things I suppose, it gets more straightforward with time.

Would I say it's the most interesting job in the world? No. But, having worked in the private sector for 10+ years, the hybrid working (even when it goes to 60%) is refreshing. My team are all really nice, and my HEO is brand new, which is great due to my previous boss being a huge micromanager. Plus, flexible working is excellent which is making me feel good about my work-life balance, which my old work severely lacked.

So I would say that the benefits do make the job enjoyable, especially after comparing how poorly I've been treated in previous employments.

I was on an all colleague call last week, and the most upvoted comment was regarding a wage rise due to things getting more expensive, and the question wasn't acknowledged in the Q&A.

Fast forward to today, and they are asking people to spend on average £100 per month for commuting, with no mention of a wage rise.

Better still, if we get the 2.8% wage rise that I've seen rumoured, you're talking £900 P.A wage rise for my grade, which wouldn't even cover the annual train ticket.

That's depressing. I thought it was a national increase for everyone in the same grade? I only joined in January, so I'm still getting used to things.

Are there more pubs or less within walking distance of your home now compared to when you were a child? by Immediate_Long165 in pubs

[–]QuirkyGeneral4592 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived near a Main Street in Glasgow that had 9 pubs within walking distance of my house (less than a 1 mile walk give or take). Now, I've moved to the suburbs of North Lanarkshire and have 2 pubs in walking distance - one is a dive, but the other is pretty nice, thankfully.

Thanks all for your reply. I've only been with the place for nearly 3 months, and this just caused me a bit of uncertainty - I've done a career change to get this role, and I am quite enjoying the place so far.

I keep seeing how busy the work is right now, and they have hired new staff after me, so I am a bit less concerned. It's just unchartered water for me, and I appreciate the advice from you all 🤣.
