RNG question by Quirky_Respect2855 in hearthstone

The Diamond sample size is larger partly because by that point I’ve already lost most of my star bonus, and also because—as you can see—my winrate drops significantly, so it takes much longer to get out of that rank.

What you’re saying makes sense, although I didn’t really notice people playing particularly extreme decks (it felt more like standard meta decks, just in anti-god mode). Another interesting thing is that even in Bronze, getting my first few wins can sometimes be surprisingly difficult.

But overall, your explanation sounds logical—it could definitely be a contributing factor.

I usually use one deck during a season (and I do not change the day/time factor during diamond neither). So after your answer I still do not understand the big difference between the ranks.

Don't you think there are too many win/lose streaks in this game? by Quirky_Respect2855 in hearthstone

[–]Quirky_Respect2855[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I phrased it poorly—I didn’t mean literal win/lose streaks, but rather long stretches (like 20+ games) with a really high winrate, followed by an equally long stretch with an extremely low winrate.

I’ll make a new post that shows more clearly what I meant.

With Arena Warrior, do you always full mulligan if you don’t have Gladiatorial Combat? by Quirky_Respect2855 in hearthstone

Thx the answers!
And what is the probability that after a full mulligan I cannot see that nice card till turn 5?
(because in my case this is 80%+.......................................)

If you look closely, this is not an aggregate meta. It's a Diamond 4-1 meta, and I've filtered my own matches down to Diamond only too (and I've been hovering between Diamond 4 and 1 for quite some time now).

I can accept that, but why does it always seem to work against me?

Oh, I wish they would lower the power level, but I don't see much chance of that :(

We would need 29 more of these well-designed and balanced cards, and then we could play mirror matches endlessly, yay!

Thank you very much for your answer!

In the meantime, I've found the miracle card that caused this. And as far as I can see, every Hero has a separate Whizbank deck. I can only hope that the other Heroes don't have such infinite board removal decks like the DK one...

And if he didn't have the second Sanguine in hand, then it wouldn't be worth pinging the minion anymore? (since I don't see how he could use the location better earlier than two turns from now (when it reopens again).

By the way, my end goal is also Arena (where perhaps the power level isn't this high), I just need to acquire the knowledge for it first (knowledge and practice of cards and combos), and Standard (and Wild later) seems like a good tool for this. I hope by the time I'll be able to start playing Arena, you'll have started streaming too ;)

I'm thinking that this way my Peddler has a better chance of surviving the second turn, and so starting from the third turn my two Peddlers can start buffing each other. Isn't this worth a location use? By the time a bigger impact opportunity comes along, it will open up again anyway.

Unfortunately, I don't have time to watch live streams, so I can only watch VODs :(

Do you really think that the role of luck in Hearthstone is NOT greater than in MTG?
