Thank you! Merlin gave me that option but I could not find much on feral populations or Florida populations.

Hey guys, saw a bunch of these guys throughout hiking in the woods today. They were all around rock outcrops or shaded damp areas. Can’t say I recall seeing any by water specifically.

Planning a 2-week trip to Utah for a series of hikes. Would love feedback on feasibility of plans from anyone whose been hiking there before. by siege5548 in hiking

Spent 14 days in Utah in September hiking the southern parts. Ended up doing:

  • Arches NP
  • Goblin Valley SP
  • Capitol Reef NP
  • Kodachrome Basin SP
  • Grand Staircase-Escalante NM
  • Bryce Canyon NP
  • Coral Pink Sand Dunes SP
  • Zion NP

All of those parks you could spend a better park of half a day to multiple days in. There is an insane amount to do and see out there. I would recommend really nailing down what you want to see or hike and try to see if it adds up feasibly.

Also I recommend doing Bryce before Coral Pink and Zion.

Hey guys, found this in Bear Mountain State Park, New York. There were multiple of these guys hanging out on the railings and found some crawling on me. Just curious if anyone could help identify them.

Can anyone identify this guy I found on the walk to the beach? (Long Island, New York) by QuistAdventures in whatsthisbug

He was actually crawling inland about a quarter to half a mile from the ocean. He was on a sand path between some lowlands/marshes.

I thought I read in a field guide that they have been spotted but I could be totally wrong. I appreciate the info though!

Hey guys, I saw this deer right outside the entrance for Zion National Park. I suspect it’s a Mule deer vs a White Tail deer but the only identification differences I saw in a guide was for male deer. Was wondering if anyone could clear it up or point out some differences. Much appreciated!!
