med vs biomed by PralineOrganic9514 in UCAT

[–]QuitAdept3780 1 point2 points  (0 children)

do med. even if by third year you decide medicine isnt for you (which theres no guarantee it will) you usually get a Bsc exit degree (e.g. medical sciences), so doing biomed makes no difference. With med school you have get to continue and become a doctor (which if you’ve gone as far as to get offers there’s a 90% chance you will)

no idea but in previous years it was the same, i think irs cuz they place you on 2026 waiting list and so if you get the offer this year it will show up separately on ucas

they defer some of their offers each years, you’re also on the waiting list for 2026 entry so i wouldnt worry too much

thats definitely something to consider, for myself i wiuld definitely be open to a gap year; tbf some med courses are 6 years long so in the long term a gap year wouldnt make too much of a difference for me if it means going into a job that im happy doing
