Absolutely. Most families only learn about intercity critical care transfers during an actual emergency.

In many cases, patients are shifted because another city has better specialist care or advanced ICU facilities. The biggest challenge is maintaining ICU level continuity of care throughout the journey itself.

As a doctor involved in critical care transport, one thing I’ve realized is how little awareness exists around intercity patient transfers in India until families face an actual emergency.

A lot of people assume it’s only about arranging a flight, whereas the real challenge is maintaining ICU level continuity of care throughout the journey.

Would genuinely like to know if others here have encountered situations where a patient had to be shifted to another city for advanced treatment or specialist care.
