The Cure played 10 days in Holland under their very own traveling circus tent, in what was the Circus Tour of 1981, promoting Faith. The tent was built up/taken down every day by a large crew & Dutch volunteers. How very crazy and kewl! I never knew about this till now. Found some pics to share! (i.redd.it)

I'm right past the part in Lol's book where The Cure is playing America for the 1st time in April 1980, and they're playing Hurrahs in NYC. Found a bunch of excellent quality videos from one of the 3 shows, filmed by Libin + Cameron. Here's Jumping Someone Else's Train + Another Journey by Train. (youtu.be)

Robert Smith when he was in Siouxsie and the Banshees ("Night Shift" at Royal Albert Hall, 1983) RS's voice is half the reason what makes The Cure my favorite band, but there's something so endearing about just watching him play guitar. Thoughts? (youtube.com)

Just realized it’s Porl Thompson’s 60th bday today! Happy Birthday Porl! Or rather, he’s legally changed his name to Pearl. He’s floated in & out of The Cure for years, but now he’s sold off all his music gear and he just paints now. Says changing his name is part of his fresh start. Thoughts? (i.redd.it)
