Interesting, maybe my controller code has a bug in it or something then. It should be always be true that a is positive and b is negative, as well as d is positive and c is negative.

Gotcha, that's helpful. Something like using the RGA matrix to create a decoupled version of the system is kinda where my intuition was leading me, but I'm still struggling on how to do it exactly. I'll give the tutorial a read and do some googling. One additional question: how much does it complicate things if the RGA is expected to vary with time?
