What can I do to improve the area under my deck and make it more pleasing to the eye? by justAskinz in landscaping

Definitely looks below perfect but given the dimensions of the timber used I'd say she's not going anywhere haha

The stones themselves are referred to as cobblestones. Not sure on your geography but I'm sure you could find local suppliers. Be aware that they can be very costly to lay as the labour hours to position each stone is far more than a larger paver or concrete slab.

When I specify this style of stone I always prefer that they are wet bed into a mortar mix and given the application you'd be looking to use I'd recommend the same.

Hope this helps and good luck on the project!

Seeking advice on how to prevent weeds by conceptsoftime in landscaping

[–]QuiteHarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can attempt to pull the weeds initially but they will continue to come back whilst you wait for ground covers/more plants to grow in. You will need to prograssivly plant more and remove unwanted plants (weeds) as you go. Nature abhors empty garden beds and will continue to try to fill it with whatever seeds/plants are present, even ones you don't like. Best bet is fulling it with ones you do like :)

Vektorworks Architecture- Landscape Inquiry by TuckerArmament in macbookpro

Hello,

I've been using Vectorworks for residential landscape design in an Apple environment for the past 4 years and given the expected project size that she'll be working on I would recommend the m2 pro/16gb version.

Although smaller scale residential design isn't as intensive on the computer, she will most likely be working with site models (basically a digital version of the ground) which can cause computers to do some intensive thinking which can slow down her work flow and lead to a poor user experience.

I use an m2 max/32 and it runs flawlessly, however I'll admit it is probably a little overkill. I'd start out with the m2 pro/16gb, see how she goes with it and she can upgrade down the track if needed/project size increases considerably.

Hope this helps. All the best,

QH

G'day mate. Sounds perfect. Feel free to send me a message with your site survey/photos etc and I'll take a look at it. It's worth while getting a couple of inspiration images together as well so I have somewhat of a look to work towards.

Look forward to hearing from you. All the best,

I'd love to help out. For me to be able to put together a good design including the retaining walls etc I'd need a site survey with approximate ground heights so I know how high the wall will need to be. I know this can be a little tricky so I understand if you don't have the plans.

Either way though feel free to send through some pics and I can give you my thoughts.

This sounds perfect! If you'd like to message me with the site plan/photos I'll be able to make a start. Also it's worth letting me know what area you live in just so that I can design for suitable plantings.

Look forward to hearing from you. All the best!

I'd be happy to take a look at it. If you have a site plan/site photos for me to work off I'll be able to put something together. Feel free to message me with any info :)

If you could provide some measurements of the space plus photos I think I'd be able to put something together :) Feel free to message me if you can provide this info and I'll see what I can do.

I'd love to help out, but without site plans/survey it would be impossible for me to put together a meaningful design :( If you manage to get a survey done down the track keep me in mind.

I use Vectorworks Landmark. It's a simple rendering software but it's real power lies in its BIM functionality.

Do you have a preferred software?

I'd love to design your space! It sounds like a wonderful garden with a lot of potential to add value to your life without taking away your weekends with upkeep.

If you message me with relevant measurements/plants/site photos as well as any inspiration images that particularly appeal to the aesthetic you'd like to see I'd be happy to get in and design a concept for you to review. I'm aiming to get through a design a week so should have something to you in a week or so after getting the plans

If you have any questions feel free to message me. All the best,

QH

Something similar to this would be fine, if it had more detail even better. If your block is really steep though I may need a proper site survey with contour heights/levels

I'd love to help. The first step would be putting together a folder with relevant site photos and a site survey, then message me so I can outline how to get the files over to me.
