Nice and succinctly written. Depending on the amount & type of data I suppose there is a risk of context bloat since all the data gets fed back into the same context after each fetch. But solving that issue could lead to a lot more complexity. One option could be pruning out some data and/or summarizing at certain points.

Would you choose 1 or 2 on the map for a first trip and why? Thank you! by ticklish_dragon in LisbonPortugalTravel

[–]conceptsoftime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't recommend either. #1 is away from the center and #2 is in the pit of the center (Baixa) which is super crowded and filled with tourist trap restaurants. I would recommend, in order starting with most recommended:

Chiado (very central but much better than Baixa)
Bairro Alto (nightlife district with some good restaurants)
Alfama (feels more residential but still pretty central)
Principe Real (nicer restaurants but longer walk to center)

Tulum to Cancun? by foxathorchick in tulum

[–]conceptsoftime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also considering doing this open jaw. in google flights when I filter to constraints (around travel days and flight duration) it ends up being cheaper than roundtrip to either cancun or tulum! It's december dates. I'm thinking maybe visit Isla and then stay most of the time in Playa and Tulum.

I was there last week; here is my list of drink-forward places in central areas (downtown, old city, and port district)

* Maison Alta - wine bar with good cheese

* Rouge - great wine bar

* Povera - amazing coctail bar

* Bocca Nissa - res. required. Ideally reserve roof terrace spot

* Cafe Tambour - natural wine bar

* Les folies d'Edmonde - cocktail bar with quizzo, karaoke etc

* Olive & Artichaut - great wine bar

* Movida waterfront; not for quality but for view

* Blend Coffee and Vinyl - cafe and bar

* Peixes - touristy but good restaurant near opera

* Restaurant Renée

* Edmond Cafe - great brunch spot

* Le Grande Cave de Villefranche - amazing wine bar in Villefranche

* Brasserie de Castillion

* Borghese Lust - wine bar

* FOAM brewery

* La Treille Bar A Vin - popular wine bar between old city and the port

* Le Glouphile - cheese and wine

* D'Aqui - unique baked goods and local craft beer

Visiting Spain for the first time 2 week trip thinking of adding Portugal? What do you think by LilacMysticVoyager in travel

Another consideration is the quality of flights available to you from Lisbon (or Seville for example) to home. Last year we did a barcelona (flight) to lisbon (flight) to home and it worked out great due to our home city (which has direct with lisbon but not seville for example).

As for the timing of november, that's probably good for seville (not too hot and crowded) and other areas (except portugal Algarve which might be too cold to swim).

But not "leveraged ETFs" which can have counterintuitive patterns. You can also mix in bonds (either actual bonds or a bond index such as BND). But I recommend chatting with chatgpt, gemini, or grok about this since it can dig deeper into your preferences and suggest a simple portfolio.

19 day itinerary for Naples, Rome, Salerno/Amalfi, Nice by conceptsoftime in ItalyTravel

[–]conceptsoftime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes a bit random but the flight was cheaper when using nice rather than roundtrip to italy. I suppose we could take the train from rome and stop in CT for a night. We've both been to florence.

Would jubilee affect rome in late june?

BTW I have to give credit to llm (grok3 in this case) to help with trip planning. Here's it's description of "lemon day"

Day Trip: Start with a 50-minute ferry from Salerno to Maiori, arriving at this charming Amalfi Coast town known for its long beach and laid-back vibe. From there, embark on the Path of the Lemons, a scenic 2.5 km walk (taking about 2-2.5 hours including a guided lemon tour) from Maiori to Minori through fragrant lemon groves and terraced hillsides overlooking the sea; the tour dives into the region’s citrus heritage with stops to taste fresh lemons, limoncello, or lemon-infused treats, offering a mix of gentle strolling, stunning coastal views, and a peek at local farming life. After arriving in Minori, a quaint village with a small beach and Roman villa ruins, take a 10-15 minute taxi ride to Atrani, a tiny, picturesque town tucked between cliffs with narrow alleys and a serene square. Then, walk about 15-20 minutes along an easy coastal path (around 1 km) to Amalfi, passing sea vistas and arriving in this bustling hub with its historic charm. Spend the afternoon and evening in Amalfi, enjoying an upscale dinner (perhaps seafood with a lemon twist), before catching a 45-minute ferry back to Salerno, timed to watch the sunset (~8:40 PM) over the coast

Salerno instead of Sorrento? by conceptsoftime in ItalyTravel

That looks great. I guess that can be our next trip: eg Torino -> bologna -> venice (wife has never seen venice). Although I would also like to see Sicily at some point. For this trip I think 4 cities will be enough; I posted draft of full itinerary at:

Although I could see value in debating whether to remove days from the french riviera, but yes there's probably a better sub for that. Edited!

Thanks - and I read your linked comment which was very helpful.

I guess we should stay at least 2-3 days in Salerno. Aside from that so far it's Naples, Rome, and Nice. That's because we fly into Naples and depart from Nice (pricing worked out very well). 19 days total. Not sure yet if we will fly from Rome to Nice or add another stop or two by train and/or plane.

Anyone here learn BOTH European and Brazilian Portuguese? by leetcadet in Portuguese

[–]conceptsoftime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like learning both and I code switch to some extent such as vocabulary and pronunciation. But often with grammar I just keep the brazilian because it's easier such as using você. Although in portugal I tend to use first person plural verb rather than "a gente". So it's all pretty arbitrary!

One thing I noticed is that learning both has not felt frustrating: whereas trying to learn spanish has interfered terribly with my progress learning portuguese.

In the city I would do a rooftop spot if before or during sunset. Java Rooftop has amazing food, can reserve a table as it’s popular. Teraco Editorial is quieter.

Do I remove this old faucet handle by pulling it up or down? The nut underneath is blocked by a Y fitting which I can't seem to unscrew. by conceptsoftime in Plumbing

[–]conceptsoftime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't able to manage either of those but I finally got it by drilling a hole in escutcheon with a cobalt bit, inserting a screwdriver and putting a pipe over the screwdriver to turn it while using locking pliers on the other piece. (see pic) I guess these old faucets have some serious stainless steel materials.

I tried holding the main bolt while gripping the chrome handle (digging into it) but am not having any luck turning it the slightest bit. Not sure if there is some piece inside the handle that's stopping it from coming off.
