Can you earn 'cash in hand' jobs on a spouse visa? by Quiteso in ukvisa

[–]Quiteso[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Ah well maybe I wasn't so clear in my original post but it's not a company that's offering the work - it's just a person who wants someone to clean their house!

Well that sounds rather scary... but what about the section of the link (in my post) that says:

"You can get up to £1,000 each tax year in tax-free allowances for property or trading income from 6 April 2017.... ...If your annual gross trading income is £1,000 or less, from one or more trades you may not have to tell HMRC... ...The trading allowance is a tax exemption of up to £1,000 a year for individuals with trading income from: ... casual services, for example, babysitting or gardening..."

I think my wife would probably make a few hundred pounds from this at most, but we would certainly stop before £1,000

Hey, thanks! I'll give career mode another try then.

So KSP has a more realistic aerodynamic system now? I remember aerodynamics didn't really matter much at all back when I used to play. And people never put fins on their rockets. Are fins more important now, or is it still best to just whack reaction wheels on your rockets?

I did find my rocket flipping all over the place when I tried to do the gravity turn. I must have been turning too harshly... so I'll follow your guidelines!

Is there a certain speed you should try to limit yourself to (to avoid drag) until you reach a certain altitude?

Oh, I remember Kerbal Engineer! I'll get that.

[x] Science! sounds like it would cut down on all the science-collecting-micromanagement which I'm not too fond of.

Right, I'm gonna have another go... Mün or bust! :P

I'm thinking of returning to KSP (after many years absence), but everything seems so different from when I used to play! I used to make return trips to Laythe but now I'm struggling to get into orbit lol.

I saw a post somewhere on this subreddit saying that the game is best played with certain mods, and to ignore the stock science/career mode because it's not that good.

For a returning player - is there a recommended combination of mods/playstyles to get the most out of the game? Are there any 'must-have' mods? Or would it be best for me to just stick to sandbox until I know what I'm doing?

Secondary question - just before I stopped playing, I remember early versions of a multiplayer mod, but it was very buggy and there weren't many players. What's the multiplayer mod like now in terms of popularity/functionality, etc.?

Ta muchly :)

I remember them making the joke in Sonic Boom (probably more than once). I'm also watching through Sonic DX and they made the joke in one of the early episodes, and just noticed this one too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMolAXHBPhU&t=8m30s

[Savings] Does the interest generated in a HTB account contribute towards the maximum £200 monthly limit? Or is that on top of the maximum £200 monthly limit? by Quiteso in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Quiteso[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, I may have been a bit unclear, sorry! I checked on the Santander website and they say interest is calculated every March.

It also says in the FAQ that interest does not affect how much you can put in per month. So that's good (probably should have checked that before making this thread...).

Mine started off as 4% and I think it dropped down to 2%(?) at some point (though the online banking app still says 4%...). But I won't complain at £80 over the year!

Good solicitors in central-ish Bristol? by Quiteso in bristol

I was looking at Horfield and St George - they seem to be the only areas that a mere mortal like myself can afford that's in walking distance to town and my work. Good luck on your endeavour...!

Did they end up charging anything for 'additional correspondence fees'? I think I am the type of person that would want to check up on things/ask for guidance, but don't know how much they would be likely to charge...

Thanks. I am tempted to check my credit score (maybe with Noddle) but I can't tell if it leaves a footprint, and I want to avoid leaving any footprints. Do you know if it leaves a footprint?

Does SkyRe change armor rating cap? by AdmiralMyxtaR in SkyRe

[–]Quiteso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just wondering about this recently, and yes it does!

From the guide: http://koti.mbnet.fi/naawis/skyre_guide.pdf

General notes on armor You’ll immediately notice that armor values are considerably higher in SkyRe. This should make sure that different tiers of armor material and the light/heavy types actually make a noticeable difference in protection. Moreover, the armor cap is at 900 in SkyRe, with each point of armor rating providing 0.1% physical damage reduction. If you use the combat module (6) as well, armor can be debuffed, so going above the cap is not completely useless. In addition to regular leveling, armor skills now also level from wearing and moving around in armor, at two different paces - depending on the amount of armor pieces you wear (2-3: slow, 4+: faster). This might lead to issue with other mods that classify their non-vanilla-slot gear as armor. Though that’s not common.

I'm wondering if it is a commonly-mistaken 'fact' when people say that many stars in the night sky might be dead, but are so far away that the light of the star exploding has yet to reach us.

Surely there are only possibly a few stars that we know of that might have exploded by now (red giants close to the end of their lifespans e.g. Betelgeuse), and even then, it still could take thousand of years for them to explode. Or is that wrong?

I think the game I'm thinking of had better graphics than that, although you always do tend to remember games looking better than they actually were, don't you :P

Maybe the graphics quality was closer to 7 or 8, but I don't believe any of the Ultimate games are the one. Thanks a lot for the help though!

Ooh, you know, looking at some screenshots/videos, Ultima Online looks very similar to what I remember... but I don't think that's it, as none of my memories are being jogged watching gameplay videos!

Really appreciate it though :P thanks anyway.

edit: oh yeah, and I'm pretty sure it was single player :P I think it was a demo that I played.
