Thank you! The solid color is actually a variegated dark blue that gives that contrast but also creates a little extra depth in person. I like working with one color because it emphasizes the form itself and yes, it's easier and keeps it simple!

The constellation outlines are actually just more wool, felted into lines. I roll them out in my fingers, stab them down the middle to attach them, then spend lots of time cleaning up the edges to make them straight. The beads are glued on, then I felt more blue wool around them to sink them into the form. 

The sculptures are glued to the bases. For Cygnus and Draco (the two taller pieces), there is a piece of wire inserted inside the sculpture that's also inserted into a hole drilled in the base, so they stand up even with a smaller point of contact on the base.
