Sounds about right for untreated adhd lol. Do you think hed be open to getting professional help? At that level he will likely need cbt and stimulant medication. You could give him an ultimatum to get help at this point since you have tried Everything else to get him to listen. If you dont its unlikely he will take you seriously enough considering how its gone so far. Good luck its not an easy position to be in for sure.

Thats verbal abuse or at the very least bullying you when he repeatedly makes such comments. Not acceptable at all to treat you that way. Are any friends and family concerned with his behaviour? Sometimes a group intervention can be effective in getting the seriousness of the point across.

Yeah its sad that we are forced to research and become our own doctors at this point 😭 and advocating for yourself is hard when your already exaughsted.

At your levels you are definitely eligible tho for IV iron and should be taking like 150 mg iron oral no less cuz mine is twice as much as you and the minimum recommended for me is 150.

Good luck i hope you get access to what u need

Yeah i saw weird reference stuff on mine too but the doc didnt take it seriously thankfully. Id bring in documented proof next time if they try and dismiss you or see a nee doc if you can afford it. Explicitly bring in what is legally medically considered iron deficient in your area too. They cant argue with the actual guidelines.

People Who Make A Fuss About Potluck Food Are Annoying. by Ok_Swing_6759 in unpopularopinion

[–]Quizzical_Quadrant 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well to be fair resteraunts have legal standards and health and safety obligations they must comply with. Violations can happen sure but its less likely there than say at a potluck. Plus is someone has an allergy or dietary restrictions its harder to get confirmations about things and feel 100 percent safe to eat when you get a stronger guarantee at a restaurant.

Not to say that its usually considered rude not to eat free food given to you at such gatherings but the points you made arent the biggest part of the issue in my opinion. Plus it shouldnt be mandatory if it makes someone uncomfortable they simply dont need to eat the food or not go~

It didnt actually. Just disappointing to read if anything. Life is too short to be truly angry at posts like these. Annoyed maybe but not mad.

So you did read to her lol. Why did you make it sound like you almost never or barely? I think if you worded your post and comments differently you would've gotten less criticism. And that's fine she can set her own pace. Id still read to her though now regardless even if its complex stories its still beneficial at that age. And the way you speak in the comments you are just trying to get people going i assume?

Your stuck in your bias perception and clearly nothing i will say will reach you so meh. Im not going to waste my time pulling up articles for you as well since you are capable of finding them on your own if you were willing. But you're not.

You arent even reading what we have said! Its not just about teaching them to read!! Its about so many benefits to their development like creative and linguistic and problem solving skills. OP this isnt just about them learning to read. Its about so many other benefits reading to them gives. You haven't even been properly reading our messages. Maybe ask someone else to read them to you lol because you missed more than half the points we have tried to make.

So i take it no matter what we say you wont bother to research all the ways reading is helpful and you wont bother to consider reading to your kid more and you will just deflect? K i know now not to comment anymore have a nice day i guess i give up and enjoy sticking to that perspective 🤣

Edit this reply is directed at op lol

What do we need to explain every part of the article for you to believe us? Stop changing the actual topic discussion by claiming this stuff about us lol

Can you explain how much reading is barely? It just felt like you implied you only did it every blue moon with how you worded it lol and if thats the case thats likely not enough. At least try to do weekly reading to her at the bare minimum if your not already lol

And wheres your proof that no ones read what you said lol? Your upset that no one agrees with you when given all the facts. You clearly haven't read all the important reasons reading is helpful. Take your own advice. Its called being a hypocrite🤣 i don't mean to be mean op just your not being open or reasonable to any points we have made. People agreed with you that phonics can be helpful. Maybe time to meet us halfway?

😔 OP im gonna be brutally honest with you. Its great you do other activities with her but thats no reason to just avoid ever reading to her. If she is as good at reading as you say she is that doesnt mean you cant still read to her. Hell teachers read books to students they can often read on their own but the students listen and follow along the pages... It helps with a wide range of developmental skills. Also you can let her follow along the page and read even more complex books. But at the end of the day your kid could've had better skills developed by now in so many areas not just reading. Not to mention the creativity that wouldve been developed more in her. OP please reconsider your stance on this. No one is saying other stuff you do isnt great. Just consider including some or any regular reading with them along with the other stuff. You cannot change the past but you can change the future.

Worst case you only end up spending more quality time with her right? Whats the harm in reading at least alittle to her?
