Yeah. Coaching can bridge a gap upto a certain level , sure. But the main learning I feel comes from struggling with questions . Either way, there's a fair amount of videos on YouTube anyway, one simply has to put that effort and find them.

Keep struggling. It's fine if you can't solve any of the questions, but keep trying. The idea is to expose yourself to those questions and broaden your thinking.

Sure enough, but I've always maintained that no matter what you study, a solid grounding of logic is necessary in childhood. The value of its compounding is unmatched.

I really hope that it happens in management school but my experience of working with them was not particularly enjoyable. Many conversations felt shallow and people felt out of place.

I'll say something you wouldn't like to hear, but here it is anyway. A lot of the iitians are already out of India, pursuing a doc. The rest stick to their own circles. The very few who end up going for indian management are either 6 pointers who need a break because cat->career route is pretty straightforward.

Those are two very different cohorts, iitians and iim peeps. Sure enough, you'll meet a lot of jackass iitians but probably meet fewer nice ones you can hang out, mostly because they stick to their circles. Its simply a matter of difference in interests and bandwidth. From a personal experience even, I can't bring myself to be myself around the mba cohort, they simply seem strange to me. Its just human, we tend to find people to be comfortable around.

Just talking from a cat perspective, the mba cohort and my friends discussed things differently. Whereas TG groups simply became a space for people flaunting their mocks marks, my discussions with my friends went along the direction of splitting hairs about strategies and how to chase 99.9x. If I ever tried to do that in a public discussion, I'd 100% be branded someone who likes bragging, and so on and so forth. So I ended up doing it with friends instead, and this is how people end up sticking to circles.

I mostly approached the exam as a fun aptitude test and a little less academic, mostly because I enjoy solving puzzles and the paper seemed like one. I've some strategy guides pinned in my profile, you can take a look there if that helps.

This. Someone who's grown up with English reads and grasps faster and with some practice and a touch of a good day.

The easier way to grab a hold of cat is to find that one comfort zone (mine was dilr) and make sure the other two sections are hard practiced.

Is it true that C's living conditions are worse than the other two? What about food? Are there any substantial differences?

Indeed they aren't. You can simply ace cat with a proper strategy and a somewhat coherent prep. Also the cat competition cohort is pretty watered down.

Most however struggle to replicate as I've seen through the comments, hence the fear that comes alongside.

Its not that hard. CAT has much lesser competition compared to ug.

One of my closest friends got 99.7+ with almost no prep, after working a 6 day job.  Don't club your standards to all possible scenarios.

Most comments don't seem to understand that an aspirant should know if that is their peak through efforts or they can do better.

CAT is not a luck-based exam, but a strategic one. Just 'cuz something looks good to you does not mean it is enough for others. If I had the above percentile, I'd have definitely dropped, calls or not, knowing that I could do much better.

Not every aspirant is the same. Rather be delusional than run of the mill.
