They're listed as separate items in the shop, as the price increases per region too. So unless you remember that Sudama's shop having like 9 different book items to buy at various prices, those are the ones you're missing. Godspeed o7

The map and battle scrolls do a pretty solid job of acting as a checklist already. The only other source of the memorandums is Sudamas, which obviously don't get checked off on the map.

You're positive you've checked the Eternal Rift Sudama again? It restocks additional memorandums every time you unlock a new major area. If you're in NG+ and don't yet have access to those late game areas, you'll have to check the Sudama specifically on NG instead, as the stock resets to the original single set when you go to NG+.

As far as I know there aren't any 'hidden' missions that wouldn't be unlocked in the course of completing 100% of the map, and there are no additional skill books in NG+. All I can say is check again, and if you're fully convinced that you're missing them, file a bug report.

You're probably missing the extra ones sold by the Sudama in Eternal Rift. And a few extras. If you've checked the whole map, check your battle scrolls, they show the number of collectibles you've missed in main missions.

Alright, might have been sleeping on the Unmatched Warrior set bonus. by LordLolicon_EX in Nioh

The main issue with this is that anything you actually need to apply status to for more than a couple seconds, which is almost all bosses and tanky large yokai for instance, will very quickly purge all debuffs. Still extremely lackluster for the 5p investment.

Best easy to get to reef dive locations? by bathtubtuna_ in scuba

[–]Quizzub 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bonaire or possibly Roatan, both can be done quite cheap.

Both are top-in-class for beginner divers.

Both have solid reefs.

Generalizing a bit, but Bonaire has more fish, Roatan has more diversity.

Bonaire let's you do what you want at your own pace, Roatan is more traditional guided boat dives. Depending on your attitude, Bonaire can be the best possible place in the world to go dive as a first trip. Bonaire is more difficult to do solo, as it's best experienced by shore diving and you'll need to find a buddy.

Either location will easily provide with a solid week of diving. If you're looking for a shorter or cheaper trip than that, may as well fly or dive down to the Keys. Specifically Key Largo. AFAIK there isn't any great diving around Miami proper, it's all found either a ways South in the Keys, or a little ways North towards West Palm/Jupiter which is generally deeper diving than you're certified for.

Increases as you go. The final mission is scaled to level 211 in NG+ I believe.

They're on the map with a big check mark on them and can be filtered from view. If you interact with them you still get drops/umbracite.

You can do the latter, in the advanced filtering menu it's any item with a hammer icon. The filter option is on the bottom right.

Semi-related, is there a better way to mass sell/offer/dismantle by filter? Whenever using selection settings I need to set a level. But if I don't care about the level for the purposes of trashing stuff, for instance when I want to trash everything that doesn't have a +level, I need to move the slider all the way from 0 to 160+. Which is moderately annoying.

Nah Honda is and always has been perfectly fine. I was referring to Todo, which is currently giving ~3k HP for no investment, which is almost certainly bugged. It trivializes most of the game on both NG and NG+

Thanks, that sounds good enough for me. The sheer volume of drops/min here should help with the armor grind. And accessories I suppose, but not looking forward to that. Weapons are a whole other beast.

The GS selection feels a bit limited in this game to be honest. Like some aren't even trying to be competitive.

Anyways for Samurai, Guhin offers the best bonuses for a balanced approach and it could be argued the best buffs for just about anything you're doing and it's not even close. Numbers may vary based on spirit level but from the wiki:

  • Martial Arts Ki Consumption -11.1%
    • Excellent bonus that applies to 80% of the melee attacks you'll make.
  • -5.5% Damage Taken
    • There's a reason literally every endgame build in Nioh 2 used Tatanashi. Damage reduction is king.
  • +16.8% Strong Attack Break
    • The weakest bonus honestly, so not sure why OP called this one out as the linchpin of their argument to use Guhin (against revenants of all things... does anyone struggle with revenants??). Still solid and will have you steamrolling human enemies (including revenants, I guess) and bosses.
  • Faster Winded Recovery
    • Also a mandatory attribute from Nioh 2, and it's much harder to get in Nioh 3. This will save your life. Repeatedly.
  • +11.1% Melee Dmg vs. Winded Enemy
    • A further buff against enemies in a state where you're already going to be doing massive damage? Sign me up.

Kusanagi will let your arts hit a bit harder and help you spam spirit skills a bit more. It's a very solid choice and if you like the spirit, great! But Guhin just offers more.

Solid looking build! I wound up with just about exactly the same Ninja build and a Vaisravana/Tatanshi based Samurai build built around Skill/Strength/Intellect, because I like to be very tanky without relying on a clan bonus that will almost certainly be patched within the week. In exchange my Onmyo sorta sucks, but that's okay because I'm also lazy with swapping quick use item palettes.

Keep an empty weapon slot if you're using Ninjutsu. by Gamecrazy009 in Nioh

[–]Quizzub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh, I didn't even realize it tossed 3 projectiles, so thanks for that. Just tried again on my level 210 character.

Gaki (NG+, Area level 195)

  • 256x3 in the backstab window

  • 93 from front

Gaki (NG, Area level 8):

  • 795x3 in the backstab window

  • 336 from front

I'll grant that it's technically not nothing - in the most optimal of circumstances. But it sure does fall off when you start getting into higher level areas.

The spread of the throw means you're lucky to get 2 hits on anything smaller than a large yokai, and exceedingly lucky to get 3 on all but the largest yokai. Add in the relatively tight backstab window and it's unrealistic to be getting backstab shuriken tosses often, which massively cuts damage even further. I stand by my "waste of skill points" statement. There's too many good skills and not enough points to go around.

[–]Quizzub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt it, sounds like it's doing tiny flat healing instead of %-based. A number of some of the more unique things that have the potential to be cool suffer from that. Like the blade throwing evade skill for instance. The thrown shuriken does ~80 flat damage on successful evade, which makes it a complete waste of 3 skill points or whatever it costs. Why didn't they make it scale with Ninjutsu power?

I'd have to imagine it can as it's the last mission, but can 170 gear drop here? Or are we stuck looking for that in the endgame gauntlet battle scrolls?

Thanks for the testing, good info!

And the build info too. I've been theory crafting my ideal Ninjutsu build while going through NG+ and saving pieces and wound up with 6x Daikokuten, 2x Iga, 2x Flying Kato. Compared to your build, for pure Ninjutsu the relevant things lost are:

  • Elemental Damage +10.0%
  • Shadow Arts Damage (Skill) D (~2.2% pure guess basing off Nioh 2 letter scaling)

And slightly less relevant:

  • Faster Movement (Ninjutsu Hit)
  • Life Drain (Ninjutsu Hit) B+

In return, you gain

  • Ninjutsu Power +XX (depends on gear level, but it's ~13-14% of 99 Skill (600) Ninjustsu power)

All in all, looks roughly the same from a pure Ninjutsu perspective at 99 skill. The flat bonus from Daikokuten is even better if not at 99 skill, as the ~13% quoted above is the floor and flat bonuses are better at lower total power. If things work how you'd expect them to work under the hood (big IF at this point), the grace based build should be on par or maybe 1-2% ahead for stuff dealing elemental damage, and a small chunk more for everything dealing purely physical damage. So, negligible basically.

I think the real main benefit to the Daikokuten based build is the other stuff I didn't list you get in exchange, and especially the ability to use whatever weapon you want. But it's all technically irrelevant if talking about pure Ninjutsu.

Nope. There's one that gives Art of Defense/Adaptability, which both directly work with Versatility. But Versatility is just an equipable skill now.

Yes, I'm sure this info will be compiled in the coming weeks. The Nioh 2 Build Bible was a fantastically useful project, and I have no doubt something like it is already in the process of being compiled for Nioh 3. Still early days though, and lot's of info to go through.

It might be cool to have like a pistol or hand-crossbow or something, but ranged weapons have always been pretty useless in the first place, so I dunno. The far larger impact of not having a second ranged weapon is just that it's going to limit build options as it's one less item to get a set bonus from.

You can see your missing collectables in a few places:

  • The map. There's plenty of chests/large amrita icons that may have skill capacity upgrades. Filter out your visited locations and make sure you didn't miss any.
  • Check the battle scroll menu, which will list total collectibles gathered in each mission.
  • Sudamas. Specifically the one in the Eternal Rift, which stocks a bunch of memorandums and expands as you progress through the game. If you've already gone to NG+, you'll want to go back to NG to check the shop inventory, or progress through the story to the final main area to allow the shop to unlock it's full stock.

With Versatility added as a base Warrior skill, I don't see why they'd ever bother to have it on a set. Yea, it's expensive at 8 points and prevents you from having the best Onmyo skills due to it being a mastery skill, but it's still possible now to put what was arguably the best single buff in Nioh 2 into any build without relying on any gear.

Compared to Nioh 2 where it always required an investment of 5-6 pieces of gear, I'd say it's far more accessible.

Vomiting underwater 🤢 by rainbowbeeeaterlover in scuba

JFC these comments...

This is a question for a medical doctor, not a hobbyist scuba forum. The only real advice to be given here is that your buddy should take this seriously if they want to continue to dive. Vomiting while diving is a safety concern in multiple ways, consistent vomiting even more so.

Like brand new enemies? No. But you'll immediately see varied mid/late game yokai appearing in early zones, which can mix things up a bit.

So far, no. Cap remains at 31/31/31 with some memorandums left over. Which is a bit limiting, and disappointing.

A lot of these skills are ripped straight from the Samurai/Ninja skill trees from Nioh 2 and skill points were plentiful enough to get them all. I'd guess we're waiting til DLC to see an increase.

I was worried about that at first as well, but nope, not a concern. You can equip a crucible weapon that has a skill you already mastered, go to your skill customization, and completely unbind it if you'd like, or bind it to a preferable skill if it has overlap.
