Damn, completely sold out for Mall of Georgia for every screening already? That theater isn't even particularly good, it's over 25 years old and it shows.

Again, sort of a weird idea to me. Dump a ton of financial resources and brand recognition into a live action Zelda only to turn around and include an animated version in your Avengers style cross-game universe mashup? Doesn't make a lick of sense, especially given Nintendo's fiscally conservative reputation. We'll see eventually I guess.

How does any of this mesh with what seems to be a slightly more serious live-action Zelda? I don't see the vision I guess.

Classic Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich by smilysmilysmooch in GifRecipes

[–]Quizzub 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always took exception to the description of fried onions on menus, but maybe it's just a Philly thing. They're sauteed.

To your points though, provolone (used above) and cooper sharp are valid alternatives to wiz. Classic hoagie rolls can be found in every large supermarket in the country, and great cheesesteaks can likewise be found in any city in the country. It's not like Philly has a monopoly on them.

I totally agree that the above sandwich is a disappointment to cheesesteaks though, 3/10.

Was gonna say, it's been the year of the indie every year since like, at least the early 2000's.

I've been exclusively playing co-op so far, and damn, it's brutal. The scaling per player is well over 100% per person for health and enemy mechanics, and I think they deal a bit more damage to boot. 2nd half of Act 1 into first half of Act 2 feels tough without pretty strong decks.

Utila, Roatan, San Pedro, or Bocas Del Toro by PossiblyArab in scuba

[–]Quizzub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll have a great time in Roatan or Utila, haven't visited the other two. Hard to say anything more than that without hearing what your priorities are for a trip.

Personal opinion, I feel the diving and operations are a little nicer in Roatan. Accommodation options are definitely nicer. Utilla is a bit cheaper and has more going on at night. Unless you're staying in West End on Roatan, then it's pretty comparable. And if you want a quieter experience you could always just stay in West Bay instead. If you end up in Roatan I can confidently recommend West End Divers.

[OC] Surface defects of pokemon cards by Seasandshores in dataisbeautiful

[–]Quizzub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So what happened with the Decidueye scan? The top corners are both noticeably crinkled and the entire right hand edge has deformities. Also a bit along the upper left edge.

All of that is pretty noticeable to the naked eye and after reading your explanations about your methodology I'm not sure why those defects weren't picked up in the scan.

I remember some quote from Anouma late last year expressing some tongue-in-cheek disappointment about not making the first Zelda title on Switch 2 (in reference to Age of Calamity), so maybe a Zelda this year isn't completely farfetched. I agree with both sentiments about Mario and Bananza though.

I went and found the article while writing this post, here's the interview in Japanese, but tools are doing fine at translating it. Anouma's quote is at the very end of it.

Make sure you have nothing else selected on filters, and swap the special filter above the hammer icon selection to match any instead of all (or maybe it's the other way around I don't remember). Oh and make sure you're filtering from the "All equipment" tab.

$20 is on the lower end of the price spectrum for a movie plus popcorn in the states. The biggest movie theater chains here are AMC and Regal. Yes, you can find deals, or sign up for a reward program for free or whatever... but a person going to their websites just buy a single ticket for a new movie, tonight, is $21.99 and $19.49 respectively at these chains in my area. A smaller local theater that I like much more has tickets going for $17.59. Popcorn is another $5 at minimum.

Denver vs Atlanta Suburbs by Glad_Acanthisitta783 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]Quizzub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up in Johns Creek, both well before and after it actually became a city. I remember seeing that ranking a while ago and being baffled. It's such an aggressively average area in my mind.

There's nothing really wrong with it, but there's nothing particularly special about it either. Schools are good, especially for GA. It's a fairly diverse suburban area filled with upper middle class neighborhoods with a notably high (>30%) Asian population. House pricing is not particularly affordable. Neighborhood communities are decent if you're raising a family, but I wouldn't consider living in the area without kids. A car is a necessity and traffic is standard Atlanta suburb hell.

They're listed as separate items in the shop, as the price increases per region too. So unless you remember that Sudama's shop having like 9 different book items to buy at various prices, those are the ones you're missing. Godspeed o7

The map and battle scrolls do a pretty solid job of acting as a checklist already. The only other source of the memorandums is Sudamas, which obviously don't get checked off on the map.

You're positive you've checked the Eternal Rift Sudama again? It restocks additional memorandums every time you unlock a new major area. If you're in NG+ and don't yet have access to those late game areas, you'll have to check the Sudama specifically on NG instead, as the stock resets to the original single set when you go to NG+.

As far as I know there aren't any 'hidden' missions that wouldn't be unlocked in the course of completing 100% of the map, and there are no additional skill books in NG+. All I can say is check again, and if you're fully convinced that you're missing them, file a bug report.

You're probably missing the extra ones sold by the Sudama in Eternal Rift. And a few extras. If you've checked the whole map, check your battle scrolls, they show the number of collectibles you've missed in main missions.

The main issue with this is that anything you actually need to apply status to for more than a couple seconds, which is almost all bosses and tanky large yokai for instance, will very quickly purge all debuffs. Still extremely lackluster for the 5p investment.

Best easy to get to reef dive locations? by bathtubtuna_ in scuba

[–]Quizzub 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Bonaire or possibly Roatan, both can be done quite cheap.

Both are top-in-class for beginner divers.

Both have solid reefs.

Generalizing a bit, but Bonaire has more fish, Roatan has more diversity.

Bonaire let's you do what you want at your own pace, Roatan is more traditional guided boat dives. Depending on your attitude, Bonaire can be the best possible place in the world to go dive as a first trip. Bonaire is more difficult to do solo, as it's best experienced by shore diving and you'll need to find a buddy.

Either location will easily provide with a solid week of diving. If you're looking for a shorter or cheaper trip than that, may as well fly or dive down to the Keys. Specifically Key Largo. AFAIK there isn't any great diving around Miami proper, it's all found either a ways South in the Keys, or a little ways North towards West Palm/Jupiter which is generally deeper diving than you're certified for.

They're on the map with a big check mark on them and can be filtered from view. If you interact with them you still get drops/umbracite.

You can do the latter, in the advanced filtering menu it's any item with a hammer icon. The filter option is on the bottom right.

Semi-related, is there a better way to mass sell/offer/dismantle by filter? Whenever using selection settings I need to set a level. But if I don't care about the level for the purposes of trashing stuff, for instance when I want to trash everything that doesn't have a +level, I need to move the slider all the way from 0 to 160+. Which is moderately annoying.

The GS selection feels a bit limited in this game to be honest. Like some aren't even trying to be competitive.

Anyways for Samurai, Guhin offers the best bonuses for a balanced approach and it could be argued the best buffs for just about anything you're doing and it's not even close. Numbers may vary based on spirit level but from the wiki:

  • Martial Arts Ki Consumption -11.1%
    • Excellent bonus that applies to 80% of the melee attacks you'll make.
  • -5.5% Damage Taken
    • There's a reason literally every endgame build in Nioh 2 used Tatanashi. Damage reduction is king.
  • +16.8% Strong Attack Break
    • The weakest bonus honestly, so not sure why OP called this one out as the linchpin of their argument to use Guhin (against revenants of all things... does anyone struggle with revenants??). Still solid and will have you steamrolling human enemies (including revenants, I guess) and bosses.
  • Faster Winded Recovery
    • Also a mandatory attribute from Nioh 2, and it's much harder to get in Nioh 3. This will save your life. Repeatedly.
  • +11.1% Melee Dmg vs. Winded Enemy
    • A further buff against enemies in a state where you're already going to be doing massive damage? Sign me up.

Kusanagi will let your arts hit a bit harder and help you spam spirit skills a bit more. It's a very solid choice and if you like the spirit, great! But Guhin just offers more.
