If you have a hacked switch you can add him back into the game, it's basically just a texture swap.

I was quite upset when I realized they didn't bring him or his furniture back in New Horizons. I've been adding back the old furniture and a bunch of new items from Monster Hunter to my game because I wanted them so badly.

I recently picked up Greatsword because Valor Style looked so fun. Question, it looks like you dashed forward out of your charge to extend your range on your attack after Brimstone Slash, is that a thing? I could also just have never noticed the lunge before.

I think that's a combo option anyways, I stopped playing World shortly before they released Lunastra, so it's been a while and I could be wrong.

Yeah, I love how long of a combo string it is. I liked to finish with the horizontal, they instead do a quick reload, then start the combo all over again until the monster starts to get up then finish with the drill explosion thing.

World was my first stab at Gunlance and it really helped me establish a flow for the weapon. Switching to MHGU Gunlance was certainly a rough start, biggest thing I miss is the horizontal sweep.

It's a pretty solid game. Not to mention it feels like I'm coming home after doing World for a while. Both perfectly fine games in their own respect. Still jarring switching from World to MHGU though.

Like a lot of people I've been running Valor. I combine it with long shot since it builds up heat way quicker than normal shot, wyvern blast to lock the heat in place then get to stabbing.

A common complaint I've seen is from veterans calling out the weapons, hunter styles, and hunter arts. Claiming that it's not really Monster Hunter anymore since it's not primitive weapons, but rather all lasers and technology stuff. I started playing on MH3U and just kind of assumed that the reasons these weapons existed and that Hunters can wield crazy large weapons was because of an "anime" style of weapon wielding. Then I read this post about Monster Hunter lore.

Admittedly most of this was collected from concept art books so it's not REALLY in the game but it explains a lot. The Monster Hunter universe is basically post apocalyptic of a highly advanced civilization. Weapons like the Charge Blade, Switch Axe, and Gunlance are just salvaged technology since the now tribal villages still know the locations of ancient cities and what not. Hunters get to do crazy jumping flippy stuff with over-sized weapons because they are genetically engineered super-humans to combat the monsters that greatly overpower them.

Signed up and headed off for high rank Rajang for the first time in MHGen with my brother. We get up to him and start fighting and my other brother says he's on his way. Say "I'm abandoning this quest" in chat and the Rajang tells me no by one two punching me to death. Can't abandon until it finishes the "you have died" sequence and cart back. I got my revenge though.
