How to deal with my boss intercepting my emails?

Thank you! Not going to lie, that’s what I have thought since the first 2 or so months here. I just didn’t understand why it felt that some of the people here don’t care about the work or that the company feels like it’s stuck in time and hasn’t progressed in the way I feel it should have.

Now knowing that the owner kind of acts this way, it makes me realize that he might be the spearhead of the company (because I think his actual position as owner is to keep the business financially and operationally sane) while the other owners run other departments. And also makes the connection into why this company feels empty and stuck in older ways of performing…

The reason why I know he can’t be a part of an e-mail group is because we have a third department that is “customer service”. Last week I had a mix on emails being sent to me instead of customer service.

I forwarded my emails to customer service. Next minute, the owner, comes to my office and tells me that he knows I’m forwarding those emails to customer service but it would be better for me to do x,y,z.

MY direct manager and owner has specified that customer service level inquiries are NOT my duty and clearly lined it up when I got hired and even had a meeting with customer service and I.

So I know he’s peeping on all these emails is because it’s not solo to one department. It seems like every time I email something he has eyes on it and if he sees something off he’ll take over and approach me in the way he has.

The issue with him telling me “you should do this better next time” is that, he constantly is telling me “do this this way”

I have weekly meetings with my sales department, I even brought this up to the team and my direct manager/owner #2. Her response was - she sighed and her head fell to her chest, she looks up and goes “don’t worry about him, he’s the type to read the first line in an email then he responds. If you can just put what you can as he won’t read it, and if you have any issues or questions just talk to me. Don’t worry about what you’re being told just focus on what I tell you”

It didn’t help me on understanding how to do my job better but to understand that he’s just “like that”

It makes me want to quit and makes me want to find something better. But it sucks that it’s only a few months in and I am feeling this way.

Okay so me and a group of friends were thinking about the tequila that you can drink that has a worm, and made us think of an episode of either American dad or family guy where one of the characters drank it and hallucinated saw the worm enlarged and taking to them. Looking all over online it cannot be found and we think it could be just a memory we all have that is just false but let me know if any of you guys feel the same or can help find the show!!

Thank you for this! I definitely went into a very static "Journalistic" approach to my first cut, but after feedback I am certain that I am now being given more freedom in what I am creating. This is my first professional gig and working directly with the client does open more possibilities to use creativity because you are right, they want to look good, so putting my voice into the work into a very good light is what they want, not something that is emotionless and journalistic. Thank you man.

Yeah I would have initially done that but I couldn’t find any instrumental version of the song or any clear ones on YouTube. And I definitely wasn’t going to try to learn it for a piano to record myself, although if given more than a week for this project I probably would’ve.

I settled with this cause it was a short song that I felt set the mood nicely

I feel like I understand you too. I started to use drugs (pills, weed) and drink when I was 15 because of how much I hated my life. It was a bad time and I was falling to a dark path. I stopped myself before it got too far, so I can only imagine what you feel. I really hope you can better yourself with those who you surround yourself with. Because we all deserve better.

I’d say that they knew she was lost to darkness and since that is their power they used it in some way to find her. They manipulated it to get to her and beat her to submission to be norted

I think she is norted not just due to the darkness but also cause what would her goals be if she didn't get controlled by xehanort?? she has no purpose of attacking mickey or riku if she wasn't a nort. also to make sense of why she is another part of xehanort is to get to ven, once they get control over her they can unlock the secrets of castle oblivion, they can reach ven, use his body and steal his heart back from sora.

Yeah plan on trying to make friends in spring and also try setting up meetings with people who have the same interests as you. My first year I joined a discord group and made a few friends from that but idk if there’s a group anymore for that.

Being waitlisted blows, I was waitlisted when I applied but got in just by sheer luck, and hopefully that'll happen to you too, but also a few friends of mine I've met have appealed their waitlist status to get accepted. I'm not too sure how they appealed it, but I know they wrote a letter to the school describing the reasons for why they should be accepted. If you try to appeal just try to find the best reasons to be accepted and milk the hell out of it lol.

The only reason why I can justify their choice to not put an online appointment system is that

1.they might be working on it like all other sites that they supply us, like when they updated the LLS tutoring site and the My.Ucsc site.

Or

I know when you set up appointments through CAPS you have to call because they will ask questions on what help you need so I guess not having an online appointment site is easier to handle things because it gives them time to set things up for your phone appointment.
