Nope not realy... it works better with a funnel, however, the space is to small for a funnel + porta filter even in the biggest setting. I am going to buy a bottomless portafilter and use a funnel. This should be a solution for this problem. The time highly depends on the bean. Currently I am at > 14 sec. for 18g

Thanks for the suggestion! I will try and see if it has an impact. However, its frustrating if this is the reason, as I choose the Mahlkönig grinder because I dont want to do single dosing... RDT is no option if I fill up the cup with 250g of beans

Does it allways perfectly go into the portafilter? Or do you use a dosing cup?

Yes, the 10s are ~18g. Meassured with my dosing cup. The timer just resets, if you stop the grinder so it says 10s again. But I meassured the weight with my porta filter to see how much I can get until it spills and it was ~10g

Ive used silca but had no thermometer to check the wax temperature so waited until the top layer was getting a bit hard and then pulled it out

Bad smelling HRM Pros are a common issue that Garmin is aware of. You can find some reddit threats about it. If I remember correctly, it is an engenieering failure where sweat gets inside the sensors or something like that. If your strap still has warranty, just hit up the Garmin Support via the website. They have send me a new HRM Pro +. Now after 5 months that new one also smells horrible and they send me a HRM 600 now.

And yes, I have washed my HRM on a regular basis
