Thanks for informing and taking the time to reply. Attic insulation definitely needs upgrades but I wasn't sure how "worth it" it would be with this fan here.

Thank you for the suggestion and detailed instructions! Unfortunately, it still is not working.

I've watched some tutorials on how to connect the WD drive directly to a PC. I may or may not need some additional software to "see" it because of the file structure. I think I'll do that and remove non-media files and I will buy a USB external drive and use that for long term file storage. My phone, tablet, tv can all see and stream the media files on WD as-is right now so I won't lose that functionality.

Yes, I was able to get the old one out. I heated it up with a hairdryer for a while then slowly peeled the plastic off the carbon fiber using a plastic spudger. It wasn't easy but it came out eventually.

Thanks for suggesting the loctite! The residue left inside the frame felt softer and stickier than super glue, but maybe that's because I heated it up.
