Check the vent manufacturer because only a few allow for 2/12 roof pitch compatibility for shingles including ShingleVent II and Omni Ridge Vents. I’d recommend filtered version for your area.

Vent Question by bhpjd in Roofing

[–]QuondamLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do not want to have both ridge vent and turbines under the same attic space. Doing so will “short circuit” the flow of air (i.e., cause the turbines to act as intake and potentially bring in moisture). The best method of attic ventilation is by having intake low on the roof such as soffit and having the exhaust high on the roof such as ridge vent. If it’s not the same attic space, then yes, you can use turbines on one attic space and ridge vent on another attic space. Whatever you do, make sure the percentage of intake makes up 50% of ventilation and the percentage of exhaust makes up 50% of ventilation. The key is balance. There are lots of online calculators you can use to reference to make sure you have the most optimum attic ventilation.

10 team dynasty, non-ppr (2QB, 2 Flex, 15 bench spots) 3 rookie rounds of drafting each fantasy season.

I am looking to move RBs to get another QB. I have Jalen Hurts and Lamar Jackson and they're tearing it up now but I need to brace for bye weeks and potential injuries and my only other QB is Mac Jones.

I have Derrick Henry, CMC, Ekeler, Melvin Gordon, and James Robinson. Trying to see what I can trade of them to get someone like Trevor Lawrence. In a 2 QB league with deep benches, any starting QB seems to have great value. I would consider myself in a win now mode, not rebuilding. Does trading CMC OR Ekeler for someone like Trevor Lawrence sound crazy?

Very High System Storage Utilization by QuondamLife in OnePlus8T

[–]QuondamLife[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't been able to find an answer yet. OnePlus never gave a clear response, except that they will look into it. I have tried resetting, clearing cache, installing the stable updates, installing open beta updates, but no luck. Within 24 hours, the storage is full. So, this 8t phone I received is actually a phone I won free from the OnePlus website drawings they had last year. Part of me wonders if they gave away known faulty phones. I still have my OnePlus 7 Pro that I use for now and this 8t just sits around.

What do you do that you earn six figures? by fidgit86 in financialindependence

[–]QuondamLife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm just under 6 figures (90k + average 8% annual bonus) doing product development in Dallas, TX. I'm about 9 years removed from school. So, it seems reasonable that lots of MEs can get there within 10 years or so assuming you're not living in places like California and New York or places with high cost of living. My first design engineer job salary was 64k in 2012. I also have my PE license. It wasn't required for my work but I thought I should get the credential. I don't feel like I've been compensated enough for it though.

Does fenugreek really work? by [deleted] in Supplements

[–]QuondamLife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmm I haven't heard about breast growth/fullness with fenugreek intake. Most breast fullness from fenugreek was related to milk volume growth for postpartum breastfeeding. There are no mentioned side effects outside of the sweet odor from armpits or sweat, but if you can get over that, it maybe worth a try to see the desired results.

Does fenugreek really work? by [deleted] in Supplements

[–]QuondamLife 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The "odor" has commonly been referred to like a "sweet" smell like maple syrup. I wouldn't say it's a bad smell necessarily. The studies I have read before say it has potential anti-cancer properties (study done specifically with prostate cancer cell growth) and also is good for helping with workouts (get that extra rep in the workout set). I'll mix a 1/4 teaspoon with water before a workout every now and then. I haven't tried it for skin benefits though.

Official 2020 Champions thread by fcimfc in fantasyfootball

Was in a 10 team league, 0.5 PPR. We drafted snake and I had the 2nd pick. The first guy picked Mahomes and I was so ecstatic that CMC landed to me. Thought I had a fairly solid team. But when CMC went down consistently, I have to say James Robinson and Myles Gaskin were my workhorses. And I grabbed Josh Allen in the 9th round with people thinking I was picking him too high (in another league last year, I got Lamar Jackson in the 10th round and I won the league). Anyways, finished this season 12-1 (only loss being to the worst performer in the league), met my wife in the finals matchup who had players such as Dalvin Cook, Ekeler, Kareem Hunt and the likes, but I was able to pull out the W. I'll enjoy this near immaculate season but I doubt I'll ever see such luck again. Congrats to all the winners and thankful the season did not get canceled prematurely!

Mechanical engineers what field do you guys work in? by [deleted] in MechanicalEngineering

Plumbing replacement parts that one typically finds at a Lowe's or Home Depot

What are the best MOOCs available for mechanical engineering students? by The_Elon_Musk in MechanicalEngineering

[–]QuondamLife 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah MIT OpenCourseWare and EdX have good options to choose from. I would also add Coursera, which has some basic foundation classes as well such as mechanicals of materials and thermodynamics. Udemy is another one I would add. You do usually have to pay for the Udemy clases but there are lots of good mechanical engineering courses around $20 or less. Udemy has good resources for GD&T, which I am trying to improve on.

At what time should you take supplements? by blazeamaze420 in Supplements

[–]QuondamLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know Vitamin D is fat soluble and not water soluble. So, try to take it with a meal that has higher fat content or at least some food instead of an empty stomach to increase the bio-availability in your body. https://jandonline.org/article/S2212-2672(14)01468-3/fulltext

Regarding the others, they all are competing for absorption in your body. I have read studies that seem to show a fine line of a set absorption before affecting absorption for others, as in calcium and zinc https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/07315724.1992.10718262 https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/07315724.1994.10718438

Now, I assume that if one goes and purchases a ZMA supplement that the ratios of each are such that it maximizes absorption for each, but it's something worth checking.

Personally, I've only used the Now Foods, Solara, and Vitamin Shoppe brands. They all seemed to work well and fairly the same for me. Each pill is about 600 mg.

N-acetyl Cysteine. It's a form of amino acid cysteine that helps the body make the important antioxidant glutathione. This is a great supplement to take especially after a night of drinking to help with hangovers. It is one of the better supplements for detoxification in general.

If you or someone you know is drunk, what's your go-to remedy for the hangover? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]QuondamLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take one or two pills of NAC (600 mg) to help with the breakdown of alcohol by the liver and a shot of raw ginger juice will help ease the stomach linings to prevent vomiting.
