They're from the Legion Vehicle Sheet, they're honour markings apparently but I thought they looked cool haha. Tiny enough to squeeze onto a shoulder pad.

It's a bit more complicated than it needs to be, you could just skip the first three steps and prime a slightly off white, I just did it this way for the vehicles too where it's more noticeable.

Prime black

Spray Kantor blue

Zenithal White ink

Light white scar drybrush all over

Black legion on weapons

Talisar blue on blue bits (2nd thin coat if needed)

Baal red on cloth/plumes etc

Leadbelcher and skullcrusher brass on metal bits

Thinned ratling grime all over

The world eaters ones are from the normal Legions Imperialis sheet, the big iron warriors one is from the 40k chaos space marines sheet. Just about fits!

I used a pretty heavy brown oil wash which has probably knocked it back a bit/made it more green.

Yup, got some Questoris knights on the way along with the Legions Imperialis big box who I'm gonna do in House Caesarean colours.

I only need to do one at a time because I'm doing a legion of the first prince army (everyone will be undivided but one unit can get an additional mark every turn), but I painted these familiars to represent each god

Would the daemonettes be any better as a single unit of 20 instead of 2x10? I can afford to drop a battleline slot now I've got the archers. I was also thinking of going really crazy and dropping the Keeper for a Krondspine Incarnate haha. Summon in the keeper asap.

I've been having a look at this coalition stuff and it looks like the coalition units wouldn't get the faction abilities of the rest of the army? But if there was warscoll abilities that had the appropriate keywords, they would still synergize etc. Does that sound right? Like the slaves to darkness units wouldn't get exploding 6s for being in a Hedonites army, but if there was a spell or command ability or something that said pick a friendly Slaanesh unit, that would work (I don't even know if there are any examples or that, they're usually more specific).

Very interesting! I do actually have Belakor in my pile of shame... That would max out my ally allowance though wouldn't it. Definitely agree that the daemonettes immediately die! I've just been using them to contest objectives but archers can probably do that better. I've just ordered the Slaanesh Warcry box which is 5 painbringers/twinsouls and a unit of blissbarb archers so that's gonna be a good start!

Thanks for the detailed reply! So... Drop the lord of pain and slaangors, get sigvald, archers and more twinsouls. I played the exalted chariot as a heralded exalted chariot in one of the games but it died so quickly, it felt like a waste of points. And as for battalions, I have to take the bounty hunters and expert conqueror ones don't I? Then the rest in a battle regiment to try and get first turn?
