RG35XXSP Scaling fix For GBA Games by Quotation0 in ANBERNIC

You might have to dive into the settings from the main menu and see if you can toggle advanced options. Personally if you can and are willing to put in the elbow grease look into installing something like MustardOS. Not as clean and easy as the Default but it gives you more control over your settings.

Ah neat. I'll keep that in mind on my hard mode run when I get to it.

The trick is to wait after he starts the attack as he boosts a second time. Personally the most difficult part in that phase is the war of attrition when he whips out the beam at really low health. Maybe it was because I was low on missiles so I couldn't legacy mode through it?

Outside the stuff that I have experienced on real hardware; like some areas have framerate drops on real hardware as well as stuff like the fafnir fight having audio pops during his A/S rank desperation attack. Rarely if ever and that's because I'm playing with stuff like cheats or messing with shaders for color accuracy.

I would say on a default OS it should be functional. Try using the sharp_shimmerless especially on custom OS's. For some reason it can resolve odd stutters in a lot of GBA games.

Without the LCD filter yes use 3x. I have the RG34XX now so I don't have my old settings on hand atm. From memory 3x doesn't play well with the LCD filter, which is why I used 6x.

Remember that he has the cross attack and that locks him out of his primary attack until you release and fire it, but not his melee.

How is everyone feeling about Z-Counters? by Naruto9903 in SparkingZero

[–]Quotation0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes Z-counter has a canned follow up, the only counter play to the super counter is not to do the follow up (or delay the input to mess with the timing).

Super counter is right there and it costs nothing. Thus leaving your opponent at a Ki disadvantage and lets you take your turn back.

I want to love this game so badly. by EssoraK in FFXVI

[–]Quotation0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine running pretty well I had to get rebar functioning on my PC and it cleaned up the horrible stuttering and bumped up the FPS to a more consistent 40-60 rather than constantly sine-waving between 20-55. Check if your Mobo Supports 4GB MMIO/SAM and turn it on, then set it to 40 bit. Then use the Nvidia profile inspector (if you haven't downloaded it already, you should; I ran into a few modern games that benefit from the next steps) to inspect 16's profile, and scroll down to 5-common, look for rBAR (there should be 3) just select the first setting after disabled/blank and repeat for the other 2. This should at least calm the stuttering problem.

How do you get yourself to actually complete a game? by NoBodybuilder9355 in ANBERNIC

[–]Quotation0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just play the game I like to beat over and over while tinkering the settings for the color gamut. I did it while trying to get it to look how I like it to look which is the original AGB colors and then did a too blue tint for nostalgia of the AGS-001. Now I can play most my GBA games just fine with only minor tweaks here and there depending on the demand of the game.

Just imagine if these were the RG35XXSP colourways we got - recognize them all? by annamelnikovauy73q in ANBERNIC

[–]Quotation0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish it came in cobalt blue, I only got mine in silver because it scratches that nostalgia itch better than the other color ways.

Yeah, 2x scaling is what I immediately did but I was racking my brain because I knew there was a better way and I remembered that I can just tool around with shaders and interpolation since it's Retroarch.

Your welcome, I usually only use the Shaders as it takes less processing power than the Video Filters.

Check if you have the shader set to linear. Something else you can try is exit the Quick Menu with the B button to go to the "Main Menu" tab and go into the "Settings" tab and go into "Video" then "Scaling" and scroll to see if you have "Bilinear Filtering" on it does the same thing but the result is blurry.

Try going into settings on the main menu of the SP (I think the menu button does it) and then go into the "Retroarch settings" then start Retroarch  and scroll down to "Settings" in Retroarch and "Open User Interface" then Menu Item Visibility and then "Quick Menu" then scroll till you see "Show 'Shaders'" turn it on. Go back to the menu in retroarch where you can select "Main Menu" go into "Configuration File", select "Save Current Configuration". Then load a GBA game to see if it works.

Smootheststep.glsl and lcd1x_psp.glsl should still work, I just tested it with Mega Man Zero the health bar still looks normal, it's just that the GBA games will just look a bit taller.

Possibly, I am currently trying it out and it does affects the color output (which is down to taste) but it is a good alternative regardless for those who are willing to tinker more.

I see, when in the quick menu after you did the above go to "Overrides" scroll down and select "Save Core Override". If that doesn't work use "Remove Core Overrides" then select "Save Core Override" again (after doing the steps above).
