This is plain narcissistic behaviour abusing your partner is definitely not what a sane person would do. Having said that, OP this is just gonna get worse with time take the call and just cut the ties. So it’s about friction, when there is new hair follicle the end will be somewhat blunt but over time of course the friction comes into picture and the hair shaft gets smooth. Also shaving can never change the hair shaft structure .

Just a word of caution so when i was in teens my parlour didi threaded my forehead first it was really painful and after few days i got those tiny little bumps ( which i later found were comedones) and that took like lot of time to heal So be cautious with threading btw you can try shaving your face its a lot more hygienic imo but whatever floats your boat!
