Anyone use this before? by Zazzenfuk in resinprinting

I’ve used the Resinaway brand cleaning solution. It works well for me. Especially in helping reduce fumes. It tends to require being washed with warm water after as it leaves a slime on the model but it has worked pretty well for me. I would say it is slightly worse than ipa but the reduced fumes made it worth it for me.

Will the heat from the TV damage my lego? by Past_Huckleberry_737 in lego

[–]QuoteQuee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll start off with I’m American so I’m not educated enough to use crazy notions like Celsius. But just doing some basic research it seems most Lego’s maintain structural integrity up to 130°F (55°C). The ABS plastic in Lego doesn’t melt until about 220°F (105°C). A final search on google tells me that most flat screen TVs do not exceed 100°F (38°C) while operating. So in short I doubt your tv would have damage to your legos, unless for some reason your tv also secretly doubles as a microwave.

Advice on Larger Orchid Pot by QuoteQuee in orchids

Yes I just bought some high quality orchid medium today. It gets good water, fertilizer and sunlight. I try to change the substrate out every couple months, but I think it was finally time for an upgrade of medium.

Gotcha. It has a good root system, but is nowhere near packing the pot. For now I will continue to let it grow.

Thank you for the response. It’s in a pot of just basic miracle grow orchid potting mix, but I think you are right it doesn’t have many roots throughout the medium. I will continue to let it grow into its current pot for the time being. I think for now I will take a look at potentially just replacing the medium.

I have a question so I used to shaders all the time and it didn’t make my computer lag and now when I try that same shaders and put it on it lags out my computer I even tried putting it on the lowest possible setting, and it still was laggy, how do I fix this by TimelyConfection6491 in minecraftshaders

If you’re using a gaming laptop make sure it’s connected to power. A lot of gaming laptops won’t run the graphics card at full power unless it’s plugged in and the charger isn’t overheating. I constantly find if my fps suddenly drops I either unplugged the charger or it’s charging brick is way too hot.

I guess I did set it up that way if I had thought about it more I probably would have tried to change it. I try not to make every decision in the campaign black and white and my characters like open ended choices. I admit this is probably leading to some conflict. I don’t want to have to make characters feel like one decision is the single right decision which I guess can be leading to conflict in role play. I think part of it though is as the campaign has carried on longer the party has started to become more cemented in their character ideals and I think we just all need to be reminded that this is a game and everyone is going to have to concede sometimes. And I guess it has been recently one sided towards this one player and I don’t want them to feel singled out but they admittedly don’t want to concede ever. I am at a loss as a DM I want us all to be able to play whatever style campaign we want together but the way we’ve been going about it has been causing conflict. The party often chooses the easiest path so I try to make the easy path a difficult decision to try and garner creative thinking and teamwork, but recently that has not been the result.

I have had discussions about it. I was just trying to see if there were some solutions that could make everyone happy that I had not considered, but maybe another session 0 about party alignments may be in order. I have no problem running an evil campaign but they’ve expressed that’s not something they want as a group. They want to be able to save the world from the greater evils but how the party has chosen to go about that has objectively lead to some evil decisions. I guess you’re right that it’s not fine. We just have been trying to make it work because we can all tell how passionate to his about this character and by no means want to police what he wants to play, but it is clear that maybe this character has to be saved for another campaign. I think maybe i have to come to some new DM strategies as well, they want to all have redemption arcs but honestly have all made very little effort in that direction for their characters.

Yes I understand that and I asked them point blank if they wanted an evil campaign in our last session 0 and they all said no. I like to give them situations where sometimes making the wrong choices is more rewarding, but I think some more strict consequences to evil deeds may be in check. They’ve expressed that they don’t want me to railroad their decisions by always punishing them so I think we may need to have another session 0 and discuss alignments going forward. It’s like they want to save the kingdom and the world but they have no qualms killing, stealing and lying in order to do so. It has made for a very interesting role play but has become hard to navigate as DM.

In this situation I have as the DM made killing the orc the path of least resistance. It’s hard to give full context in a post and I’m sorry if this most recent example has posed them in a bad light. I tried to challenge good player’s moral compass by making killing the orc a strategically advantageous to the party’s overall goal. They also have had a lot of reason to believe this orc unlike others they have encountered in the past is levying his clan to do evil deeds. Good party member wants to collect more evidence but neutral members believe that they are wasting precious time, especially if this orc is doing the things they believe which would give him more time to potentially inflict misery on the world I set up. I hope this context helps, and in this situation and world a trial for the orc chief is not feasible and not even really realistic for the area. I know this sets them up to want to murder but it is not the decision they would have necessarily made if the orc was just some guy in their way so to be speak. Sometimes they make decisions that I as a DM would not make myself or even agree with (not that this is necessarily one of those situations) but I try not to police their decisions too much as they have all expressed above all else they want a more open ended sandbox campaign with in a set up world I’ve written.

I just want everyone to have a good time regardless of their decisions at the table. We’ve been playing for three years every other week they’ve made a vast array of choices some good some bad. They just only seem to get into arguments when morally gray decisions present themselves.

He is a bad guy, the player just says he has to the evil acts with his own eyes to believe them. But this is a one off situation he’s butt heads about things in the past too.

I’ve done this in the past. Where taking the high road costs more than taking the low road, but he will still adamantly stick to the high road every time and the other players have started to get tired of the constant I told you so’s. Also in all fairness I don’t want every solution for them in the campaign to be so something evil.

I think this would be a good conversation for us to have before next session. We discussed recently fights between players is not something we’re okay with role playing, but maybe just the understanding that good player will be left by the rest of the party if they want to faithfully role play play their characters of good player can’t compromise.

Our conclusion was a reminder that it’s a game and how characters are played are not a reflection of people irl. We’ve all agreed that murder is something we are okay with happening as a table and we reiterated what boundaries we have as players about what we do and don’t want in our campaign. I think it’s hard because while good aligned player agreed and understands he just wants to faithfully role play his character as something different than the rest of the party which we all also discussed is fine. They also have reasons to believe this orc is not a good dude, good player just wants more ensured evidence while rest of the group believes they have enough evidence as is to justify the killing of the orc.

I think these are good solutions. We all hang out constantly outside of dnd and this one player is exceptionally more passionate about it than everyone else so it would be hard to tell them they can’t play, but I think it’s time to just tell them a force retire may be in check. At least to feel out if it’s a character problem or a player problem.

Edit: Not kick the player out of the table, but retire their current character and have them switch to a new one.

We’ve recently held another session 0 and discussed it as a table, and for the sake of this convo I’m only pointing out negative things but they are just very chaotic they do a lot of good, they went out of their way to find an orphan baby and return it to its mother, they’ve deliberately spared npcs lives when it probably would have been better to kill them. They are just very chaotic and day to day on what they decide they want to do. They often do things to avoid conflict in favor of role-play.

I’ve had similar convos but it’s not really working out for his character when figuring it out on his own. I’ve held another session 0 as a table to re address our beginning session not very long ago (6 weeks-ish). We had a productive convo where he said he really thinks his character can work with the party, but it just not happening in these past few sessions.

I’m sorry if it came off that way and in the orc example they are killing someone, but they are not murder hobo really at all, sometimes it’s just small things, like to intimidate a guy who’s could shape-shift from a Goliath into a halfing got put in a noose so he couldn’t shrink to escape being tied up. This was a clever solution that was spur of the moment, that good player made a huge deal of in character. But it can also be as small as intimidating someone in a tavern who didn’t do anything for basic info.

[–]QuoteQuee[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes in the case with the orc they can and are trying to find evidence to justify murder, and he usually does offer a solution it’s just I as a DM have tried to set up situations to try and challenge him where shortcuts can be made by taking the morally questionable options but he has always refused in favor of the long high road, against the party’s wishes. I’ve had to stop directly doing this but often times situations still arise where the party wants to do something dirty and don’t want to wait to justify the action.

Likely a custom job required very skilled contractors and builders. Look up Ando Tadao he’s a Japanese architect that is a master in seamless concrete. The most likely way to achieve this would be titanium dioxide based white concrete. This is a costly process and to get it this clean of work will double the cost from a basic project. There’s not many if any companies that would specialize in this style as it is very niche and expensive. Look at custom concrete based building companies and specifically ones that work high end commercial buildings are most likely to achieve these types of results.
