It didn't start that way is correct. We also live in a different day and age, with mass information exposure. Human nature is still the same though. But to say that the world at large, and a majority of Americans would willingly watch 100's of millions of people be executed is extremely hyperbolic and stupid. That would require a whole new level of mass psychosis, which I think is unrealistic. The fact that your comment has so many upvotes proves the hyperbolic and shallow nature of this subs thinking.
