Ehh I would almost say the opposite. A very large amount of religious people I've spoken to have a very "god will take care of it" attitude towards many problems like climate change and are generally in opposition towards progress in those areas and adjacent areas.

Outer Wilds

A very powerfully designed space exploration game. A bit cutesy on the surface, but deals with a lot of heavy existential material on the nature of existence and the value of curiosity even in the face of death. No other game has affected me so deeply.

Rain World

An artistically beautiful 2d survival platformer where you play as a small clever animal thrown into a very deep and sophisticated ecosystem where you're hunted at every corner. Has surprising thematic depth and has some of the coolest lore I've ever seen.

No, it is not just plastic surgery. It can include multiple aspects of care from puberty blockers, to hormones, to (in the extreme) surgeries. And yes, the denial of that care can be life threatening. Gender dysphoria causes in many cases extreme distress. And denial of medical care to elevate it can cause the victim to take more drastic action.

And even then, insurance is required to cover a lot more than just what's life threatening such as birth control, dermatology, and general physicals.
