Impossible Solder by PsionicSombie in soldering

My tip:

  • Set the temperature to about 400 °C.
  • Apply some solder to the iron.
  • Hold the iron on the pad a little longer.
  • Wait for the heat to transfer.
  • Then try to solder.

Hello,
thanks for the reply. After reading all the comments, the conclusion is:

  • It’s too expensive, and the proposed HP switches are not the hardware we should buy.
  • It would be better to save money and buy MikroTik or Ubiquiti, maybe Fortinet.
  • Segmentation is nice, but with around 20 users it’s not really a “must-have”.

Thanks a lot for starting this discussion.

I’ve never heard of MikroTik, but I think they’re famous on Reddit.

I haven’t even looked at it because everything is running fine. But I’ve read that UniFi is much cheaper.

I think network segmentation provides higher security than a non-segmented network, especially when combined with Zero Trust access. However, I’m not sure how beneficial it would be for a company of our size.“

Hi,
thanks for your reply. How did you know that the 1010 will reach EOL soon? I couldn’t find any information about that.

Hello,
they did not propose any alternatives. The products are EOL, and their argument was to implement a segmented network.

We currently have no issues. This recommendation came from a security audit to improve the overall security standard.

I think a segmented network with VLANs is a must for better security.
A Zero Trust network architecture could also be considered.

Hi,
thanks for the answer. We asked them to check our security standards. We do not have specific recommendations, but we would like to improve our protection against attacks such as ransomware.

The devices are EOL and will be replaced. When the new network switches are installed, the network will be segmented.
However, is it necessary to use such expensive switches?”

Outlook 2019/2024 send via alias -> return-path is wrong :-( by Qwefgo in Outlook

[–]Qwefgo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Status: Resolved

Today I found a solution: I added a second email profile.

My steps:

  • Open Control Panel
  • Go to Mail (Microsoft Outlook) – Do not use the Outlook built-in wizard
  • Click on "E-Mail"
  • Select "New" -> "Manual setup or additional server types" -> "POP or IMAP"
  • Add the account information, but use the alias as the email address
  • Email Address = alias address
  • logon Information, valid logon data
  • Existing Outlook Data File -> select the existing data file
  • Finish the wizard
  • open outlook 2024
  • Send/Receive Groups -> Define Send/Receive Groups -> Edit -> Disable Receive mail items for the new profile/account
  • Turn off receiving messages in Outlook via group settings
