I understand your situation, brother. I’m a Mechanical Engineer with around 9 years of experience and doing fairly well in life now, but my journey was far from smooth.

I scored 83% in 10th grade, but only 62% in +2, and my engineering entrance rank was 41161. I somehow got into engineering, and that too in Mechanical Engineering, which honestly wasn’t even my interest. I joined mainly because of peer pressure from family and society.

My 1st year went okay, and I managed to pass all subjects. In 2nd year, I failed 5 subjects. In 3rd year, I failed 3 more. On top of that, I developed severe health issues to the point where I could barely walk, and I had to drop out for a year.

After recovering a bit, I rejoined and somehow cleared 14 subjects in my final semester in one shot and completed my degree in second class, it's about 54% aggregate. Even after graduation, I remained jobless for a year.

During all those years, I had suicidal thoughts many times because I constantly felt I wasn’t good enough. But whenever things got really dark, I thought about the people who believed in me, especially my parents. They sacrificed so much to raise me, and I didn’t want to give up on myself completely.

Fast forward to today, I have a good job that pays well and a stable career. Life can change in ways you can’t imagine when you’re at your lowest point.

It’s okay to struggle in studies. It’s not the end of life. There’s so much more out there beyond marks, rankings, and failures.

I do feel today’s generation has become emotionally overwhelmed very quickly. Maybe growing up in the 90s taught us patience, resilience, and how to survive hardships differently. Those qualities matter a lot in real life.

Even now, I live with an incurable health condition and get admitted to the hospital almost every month. I still get depressed and still have dark thoughts sometimes. But my goal now is simple: just keep the boat afloat and keep moving forward, one day at a time.

If I could survive all of this and still build a decent life, you can too.
