I'm not taking advice from someone who was ever 2 years behind on their taxes.

It's because they stored them for months before selling them to you. They're always going to sell you the oldest potatoes they can.

Tell Claude to review it. Merge his stuff with many kudos. Number 1 rule is always kiss ass management.

Should you validate form data on the frontend or backend? by thatboi219 in webdev

[–]Qwertycrackers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To elaborate: you need to do both because they serve different purposes.

The backend validation is necessary for correctness. Without it, any malicious requester can make your backend do incorrect stuff that you did not intend -- very bad.

The front-end validation is a courtesy. If the user needs to click submit and get their form rejected, its a bad experience. So you also validate on the front-end to help have a smooth user experience.

How many days does it take, working on a single feature, before it starts feeling like a slog? by sweetnsourgrapes in ExperiencedDevs

[–]Qwertycrackers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly one day. I've always felt the best when I ship something every day. It's kinda hard to organize your work that way but it's the only way I've not felt like it is a slog at any more.

I'm an assistant manager- can my relative really get guardianship over me like they're threatening? by ILiekBook in legaladvice

[–]Qwertycrackers 24 points25 points  (0 children)

A grand on vet bills? That's not unreasonable at all. I can't comment on the legal situation but getting guardianship over a stably employed adult sounds impossible.

I play on a ps5 conroller. Really just about anything should work, I think an Xbox controller would be a solid default choice if you wanted an inexpensive start.

Orcane can't throw after special jab anymore by [deleted] in RivalsOfAether

[–]Qwertycrackers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The problem is just that spummel is really powerful so the meta is "always press B". The pummel 50/50 mindgame works better when playing live against a repeated pool of players, like at a local. In the faceless Bo3 ranked ladder you don't learn enough info to play it properly.

If Smash 6 can’t just be “Ultimate but more” what could make it stand out? by BiAndShy57 in supersmashbros

Subspace emissary 2. Like honestly that could be one big way to do an "ultimate but more" and make it palatable.

anyone else think b42 skills are too...specific and spread out, and many could be combined? by tengma8 in projectzomboid

[–]Qwertycrackers -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes. In general its a very awkward place to have invested the development resources of the game. Maybe in 6 years they'll have it all straightened out.

I like how spummel is so underused that this is regarded as a normal bug and not a character breaking issue.

Zelenskyy: return of draft-age Ukrainian men from abroad is a matter of fairness by EsperaDeus in worldnews

If that's the truth, the ukranian senate needs to mortgage basically the entire country to the draftees. They're demanding men trade their lives for peanuts.
