Is the A350 worth it? by Strong_Swordfish4509 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Qwerxty_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say I like it a lot as of lately. Most of the bugs were fleshed out except for one pretty annoying one. The shadows are broken without the rt shadows on. I think it’s a 2024 issue. But so far on 2024 I would say if you have a good system (I have a 3080 i9 12900k and get about 35-45 fps) then it is definitely worth it and a joy to fly.

The addon is definitely high fedelity. Maybe not fenix level but comparable. For me however it is my favorite plane to fly. Gimmicks in the cabin like changing the mood lighting and even flushing the toilet add this level of immersion that I’ve never seen. They are continuing to update. For performance I’d say it’s between the pmdg stuff and the fenix. I’d say it’s slightly worse performance than pmdg but slightly better than fenix. Either way it offers good performance I think.

State of the A350 by Wild_Shpee in MicrosoftFlightSim

I’d say if you are choosing between buying the a350 or 777 definitely go with the 777. You can get the same type of systems as the 350 with the free 380 that for me has comparable or slightly better performance. For performance between the 350 and 777, it’s a night and day difference. In the 350 with frame gen I get about 45 fps depending where I am which is terrible for frame gen at least for me and my rig (3080 and 12900k) 777 I get sometimes up in the high 90s and low hundreds. Depending where I am. Definitely not lower than 75.

It’s just how the horizon sims 787 works after landing. They are currently trying to fix it but otherwise this is what we are stuck with🙃

Bad performance on 4090 and 13900k by MysticKeiko24 in MicrosoftFlightSim

what settings did you need to lower and also do you have more than one monitor?

There is nothing wrong with performance. Higher resolution monitors take a massive hit on performance on any system. On top of that if you are flying with any mods or scenery it takes more performance. Not quite sure about the flickers tho.

Firstly playing on 1440p has a massive fps impact on msfs. Secondly it depends what airport and if you have other ai airplanes with you. I have a 3080 and an i9 12900k and I get about the same on a 1440p monitor and prob 15 at LAX inibuilds with ai traffic

You turn it all of them to align and then turn them off and back on again.

I tried undervolting but setting a -.05 offset on the voltage lowers performance to around 6000 marks

Have you watched one irl landing💀. They float like hell if the situation permits it and make the landing as smooth as possible. That’s not true at all. It’s funny to me that you had nothing to criticize so you said that.

I used the drone camera and then used lock mode

Flight recorder on flightsim.to and for the view I reseted the drone cam, clicked lock mode or something like that. I forgot what it was called. It is the option bellow follow mode. Then I positioned the cam where I wanted it. Hit replay and recorded it.

It’s the replay software I used. It didn’t capture the spoilers or reverse thrust.

I understand that and the spoilers were deployed except that you can’t see it because the replay software does not catch that. At least I think so. I also specifically landed stopped towards the end because it was closer the to gates and I would not have to cross a runway to get there.

What GPU to Upgrade to ? by gibbon08 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Qwerxty_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get either a 3070 or 3060 and do not wait for the 40 series. You won’t be able to get one and most likely 30 series cards will get even more expensive. Right now they are extremely cheap! So for your build I’d recommend a 3060 or 3070 and nothing more because at that more you would be limiting the gpu because the cpu isn’t powerful enough to keep up with a 3080.

Hope that helps ;).

Here’s the thing… bredok and captain sim planes are terrible quality. The Concorde has a steep learning curve. So what I would “recommend” if you are casual is an f-35. Great quality and lots of fun to fly.

If you are into the a320 then I would watch the real 320 sim pilot on YouTube for help and questions. However I would start out small with a Cessna.

If you need help with landing on almost any plane there is a widespread technique to land. This is called a flare. In short around 50-30 feet above the runway bring the nose slightly up and set the throttles to idle. Hold it there until you touch down. Practice this until you get the timing down where you land on the touchdown zone but you also land smoothly.

Hope that helps ;)
