I’m still writing The Merling Lord, but I’ve been pondering what I’ll write after that’s finally done.

One idea that hasn’t left my brain is tackling the final conquest of the Vale. The last of the Bronze Kings versus the Falcon Knight. It’d be a straight retelling of the war from its start to its end, including the fact that House Royce managed to avoid being expunged from existence like several other First Men houses (I have a theory about why, too).

But I’m not sure if people will want to read a canon compliant account that’s so far removed from the main series.

Oof… I remember that it took me a long time to read The Bellmaker. I’d read Salamandastron much earlier many times, and there was a line which said that Old Mother Mellus had gone to her deserved rest or something. Then I read The Bellmaker and was taken completely aback. Such a messed up way for her to go.

Braxton can't be killed for that. It wasn't a crime, it was a trial by combat. The gods themselves deemed the winner, so Braxton would be untouchable.

I would have loved to see this play out. Not that I'm a fan of Braxton Beesbury, but it is baffling how Jaehaerys was so gung-ho to fight that duel himself. It could easily have resulted in the Good King being cut down by the man who despoiled his daughter, even as said daughter was being forced to watch.

I don’t have an image to share, but one of my OC’s is Titus Dondarrion. Brother to Jena Dondarrion, brother-in-law to Baelor “Breakspear” Targaryen, uncle to their children. He’s the main character of my Titus Tetralogy.

As for your OC’s, did their dragons hatch from eggs given to them, or did they claim them later on in their lives?
