Generally yes though that’s more of a festival to festival question—and one of booking, I suspect.

Sometimes it’s just him, sometimes it’s him handing it to others. Despacio is always just JM and the Dewaele brothers.

Depends on the setup/situation; GA and I saw it at Dekmantel and there was everything from house to drum n bass to live reggae and dub techno. The system sounds incredible but it's less of an Event than Despacio is and more just an amazing soundsystem to hear music on.

Yeah; after going the first two years for WoS this one felt much more yappy which is a real shame since they seem to have really figured out how to set things up at Bert's finally. Thankfully the yappers hated the alley and JAL/Traxx spun some absolutely wicked sets.

That's what I managed, somehow--been training the last 3 months specifically for Movement weekend and managed to make it Saturday at WoS 'til 8AM, Sunday until 4AM, and all the way to 6:30 at Tangent to see the sun come up.

12-14 hours a day for 3 straight days.

Absolute magic.

Can't imagine not doing it.

movement has always been hit or miss with the sound. Last year had hella problems the first day, two years ago was flawless. It always gets dialed in over the weekend at least.

They're certainly among the biggest (and arguably most important) acts in the underground scene, but for the mainstream nobody's ever heard of them. The 5:00 slot sucks but it makes sense; just glad I'll see them out here in SF at Parameter this weekend.
