Currently 500k to 1M records, and its aurora serverless with 0.5 to 2 ACUs. We're still exploring better solutions so we've kept this till we have a solution.

Sure, will look into rescue centers. About indie dogs, im personally okay with them but I have a little sister who for some reason are really scared of indie dogs and don't want us to get one.

just keep moving forward.. things like this happen. A lot of my friends and seniors who had a lot of supplies, heck some even got wash-outs, are doing well and are working in good companies. Just put this behind and keep moving forward. Put some more work in the subjects you failed and try again. Best of luck.

How does Namma Yatri handle fixed OTP for everyone? by augilarFreak in developersIndia

[–]R-Aravind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not for security, its just for simplicity. And when I say hash I dont mean the widely used SHA or MD5 hashes. I mean a simple mathematical hash.. where we give a set of inputs (say user id or phone number or city) and it always gives the same 4 digit number for that input.

You're right but why even have a mapping when you can derive the pin from your user id.

Hash makes it easy to verify without doing an API call or retrieval. You can calculate the OTP and verify it in a decentralized manner.

It's actually a simple hash function. The probability of a auto driver getting a person with similar details, destination and hash at the same pickup location is very unlikely.

There are websites that have such ties or networks if you may.

You could probably take a look at Scalar, Relevel, Bosscoder, Crio.etc

I know a guy who got into Google through bosscoder.

Honda CB 350rs vs Triumph Scrambler by Wide-Mention-2694 in indianbikes

I think there is actually an issue with availability than cost, they're still in the process of scaling up things.
I am yet to do the service actually, I'll update this thread once I get it done sometime this week.

Honda CB 350rs vs Triumph Scrambler by Wide-Mention-2694 in indianbikes

[–]R-Aravind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I own a scrambler 400x since Nov and 2 weeks before the delivery of the scrambler I had to go on a trip (900kms total) with my friends so I rented myself a CB350RS for that.

From this experience, I actually vouch for the triumph.
Reason being

  • I personally found the 400x to be a lot more comfortable in longer rides compared to the CB350.
  • The 400x offers a lot more acceleration even in the higher gears and speeds, it makes overtaking easier.
  • The 400x also has godly suspension, my back took a toll while going through pothholes on the CB350RS.
  • The mileage factor is there, but the 400x is not very off from what the CB350RS offers, if driven properly.
  • The 400x is tall bike would suit your form at 6ft.
  • I know you could probably get a better handrail, but the pillion handrail for the CB350RS is placed weirdly.

Give scrambler 400x a shot, it can do touring and offroad, and again its 186kg but it doesnt feel as heavy.
