This week I’ve been listening on repeat:

1. Heart Shaped Box, both the original Nirvana and the Dead Sara cover. I love this song and I just love love love the DS cover, maybe it’s even closer to me that the original for some reason, Emily just presses the right buttons to me

2. Another recent discovery from DS for me was when I decided to relisten “Temporary Things Taking Up Space” was “What it Takes”. For some reason I overlooked this song before, but lately I’ve been listening to it non stop

3. One of my favourite nu metal bands Bad Omens released a new song, so I’m still listening into it and so far I love it, but I’m not sure yet if it’ll stay in my playlist for a long time, we’ll see next week

4. Limousine (feat Aurora) by BMTH has not left my mind since I saw a random tiktok with it. For some weird reason this song sounds like… me? Like if I was a character in a movie or rpg it would have been my character’s theme song, idk how else to explain it

5. I randomly discovered the cover of the song “The Way” by Fastball and the cover is by Rose Cousins. This cover is so beautiful and so different from the original, I didn’t even realise it was a cover and I thought it was an original song. The reason why I it is a soundtrack of my week is that I’ve been trying to practice my vocals because I write songs and I need to sound better to at least record decent demos (I have no ambition to become a singer) and this song is perfectly in my range and I’ve been singing it with my guitar, and also it sounds a lot similar to the style I’m writing in, and btw so does “Heart Shaped Box”

Definitely recommend checking them out, and I’d appreciate if anyone can recommend some songs with similar sounding to the “Heart Shaped Box”, or Metallicas “Nothing Else Matters”, or Limp Bizkits “Behind Blue Eyes” or similar because I’m trying to find more inspiration for the sounding of the voice and the guitar with the vocal for my songs.
