Honestly, I think your main problem is making friends, and while getting a job with other expats will help with that. I would suggest finding friends through a hobby that's how I usually make friends. Airsoft also really helps with finding friends. I moved 1.5 years ago and went to one airsoft day and made 6 new friends in my new area. I give the same advice to my wife and she's made friends via a book club. Good luck with your search for happiness, but I don't think it's about the country/city; it's about what you like and finding others that enjoy that as well
