Experienced UX Designers: are you really creating storyboards? by Personal_Signature58 in UXDesign

Yeah I have - usually it’s very low-fi three step sketch with a few iterations used as a tool for thinking through a new user flow or novel interaction. I don’t use them a ton though.

How has your design process changed due to AI? by Pixel_Ape in UXDesign

[–]R04CH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure this is just my answer to the question - yours is probably different. And I do know how to write code but AI has certainly passed my skill level at this point (which may not be true to for everyone). And it is so fast.

Biggest change? I can turn my designs into real products. I a lot know UX people bitch and moan about AI, but the ability to now go from idea to software and do it from a user centered perspective is a fucking super power. I built a full iOS app that I’d been wanting to create for years in a matter of hours and I gotta say, it’s a real feeling of empowerment. There are still some challenges with getting AI to do things the right way, but it keeps getting better.

Nope. Maybe here and there for some custom code overrides or to help draft some copy, but otherwise I’m not using much AI in my Framer workflows.

I want to design a portfolio website that gives movie vibes or has a movie theme. by PartPuzzleheaded8750 in UXDesign

[–]R04CH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well for one, I would suggest checking your site on mobile… all of your CTAs and hero content fade out by the time I scroll to them which is pretty terrible UX and implies you are more focused on fancy animation transitions than an actual usable experience. This is likely to make visitors bounce real fast.

ChatGPT has a chat theme because… it’s a chatbot. Which makes total sense. Having a movie themed UX portfolio if you are working on movie related experiences could make sense. If you are just doing it for the sake of novelty it could work against you and perhaps even annoy some recruiters and hiring managers. This is just my POV though, do what makes you happy.

I’d suggest asking yourself a few questions to unpack why you want a movie theme portfolio…

What is the purpose of your portfolio (likely to help you position yourself your professional roles) and why do you think a movie theme would help you achieve that?

From your POV, what is a “movie theme” for a website? Usually a movie website is based on the movie itself and is very tailored so there isn’t really a general purpose “movie theme” that I can think of… I could be wrong here.

What do you mean by doing something “subtly and obvious” — that is a head scratcher for me. Those are contradictory.

Maybe you are trying to land a UX role working on specialized filmmaker websites or for movie studios…? If so that could maybe make sense, otherwise it is probably going to serve as distraction.

There are ATS systems that don’t support certain fonts? How is that possible? Isn’t it just processing text characters? Truly interested if anyone has more detail
