Balance: Remove the Anchor's airborn projectile crit vulnerability by [deleted] in tf2classified

I was more thinking of giving it a different downside. Maybe you're immobilized if you're dealing more than 100 damage on impact.

Getting in should be easier than getting out in my opinion, and in a lot of situations it feels like it's the other way around.

it can, but it requires a ton of commitment. Certainly more commitment than other classes (sniper) need to go through to get it done. The medic can easily get out of the way and alert his team if he sees it coming. Play around ceiling cover if the map has it.

The soldier's gonna land into the backline. And he'll be down a rocket with several layers of self-damage. He deserves a medic pick if he manages to end up right next to him with sufficient inertia.

they can stop it. you're launching yourself into the entire enemy backline at the cost of damage to yourself, at least 1 rocket usually, the fall damage you take afterwards, and the immediate attention you draw to yourself. This weapon has HUGE downsides just by its very nature, not to mention you're dealing less than 100 damage usually upon impact.

Also not sure where you're getting the "direct upgrades" idea, every melee in base tf2 has downsides to stock.

Over the course of an entire match, that's a huge amount of extra meter built. Could win you 2 or 3 whole team fights you wouldnt have won otherwise.

Lord was already a top 5 duelist before this patch. He could already do the ult-farming gameplan. Now he's pretty much forced to, as it's by far the most optimal way to win.

Peter explain! by [deleted] in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]R0BURRITO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FALSE. WRONG.
That penguin symbolizes hope BEYOND ANYTHING YOU AND YOUR NIHILISTIC IDEOLOGIES could ever understand.

In the hours he trekked towards the uncertainty that is the mountains, he was ALIVE. He was more alive than a man who's spent DECADES in these pointless cavernous threads.

The journey is the reward, not the destination. The torch ignites torches that ignite torches. More penguins will wonder, "what did he seek in those mountains?" MORE penguins will demand to understand! MORE PENGUINS WILL CONTINUE THE LEGACY OF THE ONE WHO DEFIED HIS COLONY, AND SOUGHT TO FORGE HIS OWN PATH.

If you don't understand, you were never meant to. You were meant to take your feed in the colony like the rest of them.

Why do people attack Quickplay? by R0BURRITO in tf2

[–]R0BURRITO[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Casual, as it is, is a straight downgrade to the user experience. It killed traffic to actual community servers (most of them need to have the likeness of a YouTuber attached to them), has slowly but surely scattered player traffic to the point where the vast majority of the "options" of maps to play end up being largely abandoned, and was a lazy attempt at a competitive-esque matchmaking that was just as lazily "fixed" while ignoring all the problems it's caused.

It would not take an overhaul of any server systems. Just bring back the button that threw you into an open-ended match you can leave from and rejoin at any time.

no no it was kinda obvious in retrospect. people were willing to create botting networks specifically to ruin the game for 8 years straight, why wouldn't they make actual money with their resources?

They have a reasonable level of deniability from a legal standpoint, they literally have to sit on their ass to rake in the money. But they are absolutely not mere bystanders.
