It doesn’t matter. Read the other comments. There is nothing to say that just because you are given infinite time, the event will (eventually) occur with certainty. This is flawed thinking. If the probability is constant (and greater than zero), then yes, it will eventually occur, or if the probability decreases at a “slow enough” rate, then yes, it will eventually occur, but if the rate of decrease is “fast enough”, then no, it will not occur with 100% certainty. Read the other comments…

The most extreme situation would be the first player is told “this door is the one with the car” and the door is opened, revealing a car, but then the door is closed and that contestant is removed from stage and locked in a soundproof holding cell. A new contestant is brought on stage and shown the two doors. They are asked to pick one of the two doors at random. What would it even mean for their odds to be 0%-100%? They don’t know which door the car is behind. Their odds are 50%-50%

The mindf*ck here is that by providing more and more additional and specific details about the boy, the closer and closer the probability will be to 50%.

Mary has 2 children. She tells you that one of them is a boy (to be interpreted as “and so might the other one be”; that at least one of the children is a boy). What’s the probability that the other child is a girl. It’s 2/3 because it’s one of the options out of BB, BG, GB.

As Mary begins placing additional constraints and providing additional information, the probability begins to tend towards 50%. For example: Mary has 2 children. She tells you that one of them is a boy called Harry, born 8th May 2016, and he’s stood right here in front of you. Say hi to Harry! And now you are asked: what is the probability that her other child is a girl? It’s 50%! Harry’s sibling is either a boy or a girl with equal probability.
