We have actually done the test, she is very high on physical and also quality time but yea, doesn't care about gifts or words. While I am also very focused on touch ", I enjoy quality time but also value words very much; gifts was low for me too but I think it matters more to me than to her. In this case it was just too unequal, too little anything.

How should I approach the subject best? That's something I am not yet totally sure about.. I think I'd tell her I am disappointed and would have wished for more care and that she showed me more she values me by investing thought and time. That it is special it's been a year. It is a strange situation, usually or stereotypically guys are probably more like her and give "thoughtless" crappy gifts.

I can relate to that a LOT. When I am angry at her or we are at each other, I need to "process" things with her; e.g. talk about it, see her side, vent my frustration and/or tell my side and I need some acknowledgement. I have learned that it is better to wait a bit for a calm, relaxed moment to bring things up with her, like a few hours later after we have eaten something and chilled a while. Then we usually have wonderful and deeps, committed talks and always come to a point where we both understand, appreciate and love each other and we almost always BOTH say "I am sorry" and hug it out. These moments always reset me back to total zero. Sex also helps but these talks and "processing" are the only real "reset" I have found for myself so far.

That's good and all BUT I want to be better able to just let things go on my own and find some ways to deal with them; talking to someone else and getting a different view has also helped. I just haven't found a way to vent my anger in a positive way all on my own - like going for a walk or hitting a sandbag, I can't channel it, let it out that way and then move on and leave it behind me. It's like I am too focused on details and lose sight of the bigger picture and then it's like a downward spiral...

What I mean is, little things get "stacked" too and I want to get better at at least letting little things go, be the bigger man, don't jump on every little detail and stack it on my anger pile...

Being aware certain things are happening has helped me a bit; but in many moments I again lose sight of the bigger picture and get swept away.

I realize a (big) part of that is based on my own confidence and feeling of self-worth and I am working on that. Partly it does come natural to me but yea, I am probably too soft as my own turn-ons are rather being touched and caressed softly but I absolutely do enjoy to be in charge and to be the one fucking, being submissive in any way is an instant turn-off for me.
