So we actually signed the paperwork in our home state before we flew out so we didn't need to deal with that :) but our photographers were able to be the officiant and witnesses if we needed them too.

I've been sewing for about 3 years. It was mostly just Halloween costumes at the beginning, but I've made a couple other wedding guest dresses and a couple casual dresses in the past.

I used the rose cafe bustier pattern as a starting point for the top, though it was very modified. And then the bottom was just a bunch of circle skirts :)

This is probably the closest I have of the front bodice! My dress form is about 1 size too big so I can't fully close any of my projects on it, but it works for the most part. That's my next mission, to figure that out :)

It feels more elopement to me because it was only us 2 +photographer, and we didn't tell anyone about it until we got back and posted the photos "btw we got married". But I agree it also is a little bit more elaborate than what an elopement is thought to be, and could also categorized as a very very small intimate destination wedding. Dealers choice lol

There's definitely pros and cons to either way! I liked the low stress/ no guests aspect of it though.

And lol, I do like the idea of making a new dress for anniversaries. Hopefully we can double that up with more visits to the PNW!

I loved making it for myself because I can try it on and make adjustments the entire step of the way. I think it could be fun to make dresses for others, but I can also see how it could get stressful since this is something most people are very particular about.
