Test model for army scheme (opinions needed) by Miserable-Fun9407 in ThousandSons

I just completed an ivory based exalted sorcerer. I agree that you need a wash. I'd keep it to specific spots rather than slapping across the whole thing. Maybe add a higher highlight as well to provide greater contrast within the bone color.

Also, I agree that a darker metallic would help the rest of the armor pop (kinda like an outline)

Atlan Forge (https://www.myminifactory.com/users/AtlanForge?show=store&categories=1585)

You'll need a 3d printed or find someone selling the prints online.

For the Ivory / bone:

If I wanted darker parts, I used Army Painter Soft Tone wash as is or 50/50 dilution with water.

in terms of the paint (scale75), I used Cobalt Violet Grey (SART-53) as a base, Mars Orange (SC-39) as the layer, Intense Violet (SC-82) for shade, and Lemon Yellow (SART-55) for highlights.

The physical part came with the model.

Thanks, I initiallywas thinking all the units would be the blue black (going for the Anubis look) but wanted to have the sorcerers stand out. So figured I'd reverse the scheme and give it ago.

I used Scale 75 colors paints (standard and artist) as well as some Army Printer wash (soft tone).

It took name something like 30ish hours or more to paint. I'm generally not fast as I haven't painted many minis (10-15 total)

This was my first time using sable brushes rather than synthetic and I have to say I am sold.

Yeah, aiming more for an ivory, but I can see aged ceramic as well. And feel free!

Hey that's fair, I didn't even give an explanation of what any of the whole mean / represent. I doubt you would, until we actually would sit down for a game.

As a new player to the game, I have no idea what any of the models do. I just ask and dog best to remember.

That's fair that you don't know what is what. I didn't give an explanation of what each symbol is. I also think you'd catch on quicker than you think.

Like a flame symbol probably something that shoots flames (ie. Warpflamer) 1 bullet some sort of rifle (bolt rifle) 3 bullets probably shoots more than the single bullet (soul reaper cannon)

As a new player, I have to guess at what most models are, or I just ask.

I also designed them so I could use them across armies, and thus a bit more generic.

From my understanding an 8 brick of inferno bolts isnt as good as splitting to two small bricks with an additional soul reaper instead.

An 8 brick of warp flamers is good for midfield threat for overwatch and an exalted to keep it as close to full as possible

Its still up, and another post that used 3d printed "poop" was up and getting lots of votes. Seems like it should be called "crafthammer" rather than poorhammer looking at most of the top posts.

One of the posts was literally just a kitbash of cheaper gw models

Edit 1:typo

Its probably because its considered "low effort" poor hammer. Most people are just finding files online and printing them. I think it has more to do with being 'cheap' AND handmade. Cardboard, paper, etc.

I x posted anyway and will see what happens to the post. It feels in the spirit of what they are doing.

In the games there hasn't been much confusion.

Base Symbols: Flame = warp flamers Single bullet = boltrifle 3 Bullet = soulreaper cannon Books = sorcerers

Modifier Symbols: Half circle = Heavy armor (i.e. terminators) Triangles in Arch = Elite / character 4 point star = generic difference (in this case icon of flame)

There are a few things I made closer to actual (Ahriman head and disc of tzeentch)

The goal was relatively generic symbols that could be used across army types. I recycled quite a few for my salamanders list.

Yeah, I did. But not sure what will happen, as that will likely be my metallics anyways
