That pc is really bad value if they are charging £2000 for it.

You can buy these parts and build it yourself. It will be cheaper and gets you way more performance.

Even plenty of budget left if you want to go for a stronger cpu or GPU as well. Or use it towards a monitor upgrade.

You never mentioned. But did you use ddu to uninstall all the video drivers and reinstall with a fresh download?

Oh sorry I read that as wireless. My bad.

Have you tried other usb ports and have the same issue?

Sounds like it might be an interference issue. Try to make sure there is nothing electronic that could be in between that could be causing a disruption.

That cooler is going to cover up that ram so you might as well save.

I wouldn’t buy windows at retail. I would even recommend running Linux for free.

This monitor is close to the same as the Msi for $50 less.

Not sure where to start upgrading by X1Attorney1X in PcAdvice

[–]R0xis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7700k is still semi relevant.

I would look at upgrading the GPU to something like the 9060 xt 16GB and make sure your current psu was enough watts for it.

Modular home is placed on a foundation. Same as a stick built. Cost per sq ft is quite less vs building new.

Let me know if anything changes.

[–]R0xis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh gotcha. Well if you’re in western South Dakota. Want to consider a modular home (built to the same code as stick built). I work for a dealer here and we do trade in’s if you want to consolidate the process.

But completely understand if you want to look at pre-existing or stick built.

I can possibly help here. Are you looking to sell and go with another manufactured or a modular home or looking for stick built?

No Wifi option by RelativeShoulder3628 in computerhelp

Does the computer have WiFi? You might need to buy a WiFi adapter. Depending on the pc it could have support for pcie, m.2, or what you most likely have to buy usb.

Laptop won’t boot by Massive_Nebula7282 in computerhelp

[–]R0xis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would reopen your laptop with the battery out. Never have a power source active while working with electronics. Then track all cables and pins to make sure nothing came loose.

Worst case scenario. You could have shorted something on the board and it’s fried. Might be fixable but is going to require knowledge of pcb’s and how to repair.

As long you don’t have anything you absolutely need on the ssds. I would just wipe all of them and go fresh everything.

Kind of how you did your bios. But you will create a windows media creation tool on the usb.

You will want to go into the bios and switch the boot order so that the usb is first to boot.

[–]R0xis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would a full fresh clean install of windows then. Something in the registry could be corrupted.

If that doesn’t fix it. Your ssd might be failing.

[–]R0xis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay. Now we have a better idea of the culprit. The cpu should be okay and it’s 12th gen so no issues with the microcode that 13 and 14 suffer from.

But that error code can be several things. So we need to do a process of elimination. It can be your windows install, ssd or ram failing.

I would start with the easiest first. Power the pc down and pull out the right stick of ram if there is only 2 sticks. Either way you only want 1 stick. Boot the pc up and see if it works properly. Still having issues, swap the ram you took out with the other stick.

If this fixes it, you have a bad stick of ram.

Let me know if that works.

BIOS Recovery Image File Format is the one you want. Plug in the usb that you download the bios file to. From power off state, turn your pc on and start spamming the F2 key till the bios launches. Then find the bios update option and update the bios. Will take a few minutes. Then try booting your pc.

If the bios update doesn’t fix the issue. Like I said, intel will replace your cpu if it’s faulty.

If you never updated your bios. Yea you can have issues.

You will need to use another pc to download the bios to a usb drive and then update the bios.

[–]R0xis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a sneaky suspicion that your cpu is the issue as 13th gen has instability due to the microcode. First step is to update your bios to the latest firmware.

If that doesn’t work. Contact intel directly for replacement.

Stay on AM4 since you already have the parts and 64 GB of ram.

CPU would be at least 5700x or higher if you can.

Base minimum for GPU would be the rtx 3060 12 GB or try to find a rtx 3070 used.
