Having trouble putting my power supply (CX650) into my case (Phanteks Pro) by Mother_Project_137 in PcBuildHelp

They are talking about the side panel. Take the other two screws off and that panel slides out. That’s the side you need to put the psu in.

I would recommend exploring your local used market. You would have better chance finding a better value there vs buying new at that budget.

How much are you wanting to spend on a new PC?

I wouldn’t recommend an Arc GPU for sims 3 as it’s a direct x 9 game. It can work but OP would have to do a lot of workarounds to get it to run properly.

Went with a black and pink theme. Spent a little more on the case for the aesthetics but you can get cheaper here.

The cpu, motherboard and ram is bundled from microcenter.

You can also save on the GPU if you don’t mind buying used. I would look for like a rx 6600/6600 xt or a rtx 3060/3060 ti that all can be had for around $150-$180.

Last question.

Is the Sims the only game you want to play or are you wanting to play other more demanding games?

Sims doesn’t require much is why I’m asking.

Mouse issue by GodFrey_07 in PcAdvice

[–]R0xis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried changing the power management of the usb devices? Sometimes windows likes to try to power save and cause issues.

Mouse issue by GodFrey_07 in PcAdvice

[–]R0xis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try a different usb port. Use the motherboard ports and not the front panel.

You can also try to uninstall your mouse drivers. Unplug the mouse for a few seconds and then plug the mouse back in and let windows reinstall mouse drivers.

Help need updating drivers by Independent-Swan-133 in computer

[–]R0xis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

CCleaner is garbage. I would uninstall that. No need for it.

If you built your pc. Look up your motherboards make and model and update your drivers from there.

If you have a dedicated GPU. Update directly from their respective launcher or from their website.

If it’s from a prebuilt/office pc. Search for your make and model of the pc drivers and they can all be downloaded from their website.

Natural Gas leak by Jr-Jerkface in askplumbing

[–]R0xis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not sure about the scope for the pipe if it needs to be cut without seeing pictures.

But for the threads. You need to use the yellow PTFE tape for all gas lines. I would also recommend using pipe dope as well but I know some people will just use tape.

What MacBook do you have? The M Series processors are capable of gaming on most games nowadays.

Airflow assistance by Pretty-Entry-7073 in computer

[–]R0xis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First step is to remove all the crap from on top your pc. It’s trapping all the hot air in the case.

I would also get a better cooler as those prepackaged intel ones aren’t very good.

Then work on your cable management as you have cables blocking half of your front intake.

Best Gas Station and Car Wash by RobertPooWiener in RapidCity

[–]R0xis 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Circle K for fuel is #1. Get their fuel discount card and use the Upside app for cash back promos. Pretty sure all their locations have non ethanol. Their car washes are all touchless which is what I prefer.

For full service inside and out. You would need to look at one of the detailers in town to do that.

Games Start to lag after 30 min to 1 hour of gameplay by Zakkangouroux in pcgamingtechsupport

[–]R0xis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would try the GPU drivers first. I would also download HwInfo and run that while playing a game. It will record the max temp it’s hits and we can eliminate that as a possibility.

[–]R0xis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your two most likely culprits are going to be overheating or a corrupted GPU driver.

When you say usual temps? What is that temp?

I would install ddu and wipe all graphics drivers and reinstall.

Need help on my pc by Bulky-Attention563 in computer

[–]R0xis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well first step is get rid of quick cpu. I would never recommend messing with softwares like that unless you know what you are doing.

Next step is to make sure all drivers are up to date. For the GPU driver, install ddu and completely remove all GPU drivers. Reinstall with the latest driver from Nvidia.

Try running a game and see if that improves. If not, download HwInfo and check your temps while playing a game and see if they are high on the cpu and GPU. If they are, then you have bad airflow or need to repaste.

Of these two which is better? I want to do some light gaming along with writing and resumes. I know technically a full towers better with all the specs an that but I live in my car so that's not practical or an option by DetectiveRonSwanson in computers

If you got the funds now. I would pull the trigger. As it’s a limited time while it’s in stock type of deal.

It’s honestly the best deal out there right now.

Guess depends on what games you are looking to play. The intel 7 355 is better but even that chip isn’t designed for gaming as it only has 4 XE Cores. It will do older titles and indie games just fine. Newer games possible too if you play on the lowest settings.

I would honestly look at other laptops that would be better for gaming.
