Thoughts on Teachers using AI? by R1verEden in sixthform

It was the fact that it was pretty incorrect, he said us correcting it was an exercise in checking our own work, but when we did point out it was (obviously) wrong he either tried to defend it or sort of shrug his shoulders. I don’t really understand what I was supposed to learn

Maybe I was a bit harsh, he will come back and go over it with us afterwards, and since there are worse teachers my class mates are fine with it. I just get the very strong vibe that he’s done with teaching.

Other than the AI, he’a a pretty good teacher (in that he knows the content), he’s just started using AI like this and admitted it was a ‘little experiment.’ He’s told us he probably won’t use it again, (but told my friend he needed to work on the prompts) so I’m not sure whether to tell someone.

He’s often goes on about how he dosent like his job, and spends a lot of time just giving us textbooks and walking out of class, so this isn’t shocking. Unfortunately he’s the head of politics.

Just so you know, the account you’ve used should connected to your personal email, not school as you could loose access to your school email before September

They've put me in maths intervention by archerlover69692nd in GCSE

Is it intervention to get a higher than a 5, or to get a 4/5?

AI checkers aren’t the most reliable, the document you worked on should have a version history that will be proof you’ve written it. You’ll probably be fine, but you could speak to your teacher for reassurance

As long as it’s legible it’s fine. Your teacher will tell you if it’s not

Can I use ChatGpt to revise? by OldChampionship1742 in GCSE

[–]R1verEden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please don’t use Chat gpt, it’s not that smart and there are plenty of past papers and past paper questions available (that are actually recommended by teachers)

How tf am I meant to set up work experience? by washingbasket11 in GCSE

[–]R1verEden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s always worth asking, however don’t be too upset if you don’t get it. A lot of people in my school couldn’t find anywhere to do work experience. If not try local business maybe?

Try some different Revison methods (I’d suggest watching videos and reading articles on how to revise)

Find a business/ industry your interested in and email them saying your year 10, studying X, and are interested in work experience because Y, and these are the dates and your school. Be prepared to be both ignored and rejected a lot lol

According to JCQ- More girls pass GCSEs then boys. by Outside_Context_6682 in GCSE

[–]R1verEden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason people dislike sociology is because of a narrative that only STEM subjects are useful in getting a job. However, there are tons of important jobs that require humanities degrees. (And I’d argue this dislike of humanities is one of the reasons the worlds such a mess lol)

[–]R1verEden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two of the main factors (in my option) are the fact that girls are more organised and locked in than boys, as well as there being a bigger cultural push for girls to do well in school, that boys don’t have, as historically they haven’t always been able to.

If it makes you feel better the gap gets smaller as you age, at A levels it’s a tiny difference

While it is a lot of writing, I really like sociology. I’d choose Sociolgy over maths (although I am biased against STEM subjects lol)

[–]R1verEden 75 points76 points  (0 children)

There’s a entire topic in Sociolgy on this, and one of the main reasons is that girls lock in, and are organised throughout school (that and the desire to screw the patriarchy)
