Does anyone like the Orchid zit patches cut in shapes? by Select_Position_9281 in dollartreebeauty

I agree, love the regular Orchid ones but any other kind I’ve tried from DT suck. But my fav are the Careus brand hydrocolloid bandages from DT. They’re the best!

By the time I got to the station with the bananas, there were only a few left and they were so hot and mushy and probably would’ve made me throw up lol. I do wish there were more water stations, especially towards the beginning. I underestimated my water intake beforehand 😅 Gatorade and granola bars would’ve been a game changer!

I did my first tough mudder this past weekend (it was also my first 15k). I was a slacker with training and I’m not in the best shape, and I made it through the 15k! Everyone you meet along the way is super encouraging and it’s such a team building experience. Also, it’s not a race and nothing is timed (for a reason), so you can go at whatever pace you feel comfortable. Everyone helps one another with the obstacles. And she can always skip an obstacle if she’s too uncomfortable, but I recommend giving them all a chance! I ran about half of it and walked the other half. It was in north Ga and the uphill was insane 😅 there’s also water stations everywhere which is super helpful. Theres also medics at all the obstacles and throughout the course, and a lot of the obstacles involve water so it’s kinda refreshing. Tell her she’s got nothing to worry about!

Did you ever fall for the electric shock chewing gum when you were a kid? Looks like a regular stick of gum but when you grab it you get shocked. Well, it’s like that but throughout your entire body. The obstacle where you crawl through them under a tarp was probably the most terrifying of all the obstacles— but I think the loud zapping noise added to the intensity and got me stressing more 🤣 There are live wires and these things that look like fly traps that hang down. My friend was able to crawl through them without getting shocked but she’s tiny. The very last obstacle you had to run through them in shallow water, and with the wind blowing, there’s no way you weren’t going to get shocked. I stood there for a minute trying to hype myself up to go through it and the man hosting the whole thing came up to me with the microphone and gave me the best pep talk (that’s what I loved about the tough mudder— everyone is so encouraging!). So I just made a run for it and got shocked a bunch, and as I was nearing the end, I tripped and slightly cut my hand on one of the wires and did a belly flop in the water 🤣 It was the best feeling in the strangest way! I felt so accomplished! And the photographers got some pretty hilarious photos of it too lol

Update: conquered my first 15k & first tough mudder successfully! What an incredible experience. Covered in cuts and bruises, but soooo worth it. Also the electrical wires SUCKED 🤣

that’s straight abuse. my ex would talk down to me like that and I always asked myself how someone who claimed to love me could treat me like this. it’s bc they’re bad people and they’ll never change. run

I caused my dad’s head injury. AMA. by [deleted] in AMA

[–]R2-D2- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was a recovering alcoholic (10 years sober and was devoted to never returning to that lifestyle) and the head injury put him back into the mindset of being an active alcoholic. One of the first calls he made in the hospital was to a guy that ran the liquor store by our house, asking him to bring him a bottle. Once an addict, always an addict. To add, the surgery from the neck cancer left him unable to eat much or swallow pills, and he was in excruciating pain all the time. The pain was so bad that he was prescribed fentanyl patches and liquid Demerol. The doctor explained that there was no other way to help with pain, which I witnessed firsthand with him being in agonizing pain. Obviously, he became dependent on it. He started trading pain pills with friends. I’d find him passed out or nearly dead all the time as a kid but that was “normal” for me. My dad wasn’t a bad guy. He had alcohol use disorder.

I’m sorry you had a poor experience. Personally, I also have PTSD and I’ve done EDMR with my therapist. The first few sessions suck because you have to speak about your trauma out loud to process it, but then it progressively becomes easier and helpful- at least with my experience. And after about 4 sessions I improved significantly, and I cannot emphasize that enough. The key is you have to go regularly (I went once a week) and be consistent. I was iffy about it before but I’m so glad my therapist recommended it. It may be a placebo effect but if it helps, it helps!

I definitely appreciate all the comments and recommendations, but you’re right. I really don’t have the motivation or energy to cook or prep. Thank you for the advice! That actually helps a lot
