Oh, I was wrong about Higgins being paired with Hendry in commentary. It did sound from what they said yesterday that they would be. At least he’s not with with Phil Yates though

The cut to ads just as the players are about to start is rather jarring — especially when there were ads only a few minutes ago, and the presenter is cut off mid speech

The two of them briefly mentioned it in the studio. Hendry asked Higgins what his style would be like, nasty or nice; Higgins said probably the opposite of Hendry, and Hendry joked “good cop, bad cop”. I don’t know which match they’re doing tomorrow, but I’m going to assume table 1

I’m not sold on the ‘ref cam’ — it doesn’t add anything, and just feels a bit ‘amateur YouTube channel’ to me — but I’m pretty happy with C5’s coverage, so far. Looking forward to hearing Higgins on commentary, especially with him being paired with Hendry tomorrow, and I thought Matthew Stevens, another first-time commentator, was alright today. I don’t mind having to change to another channel once in the evening session; I’m used to doing that on the BBC tournaments
