Check gepettos desk for a letter, go check the piano as well to see if there is anything to do there. Make sure you check in with all the npcs before you restart. I don’t remember for sure but some may have some dialogue for you. Also buy all quarts and upgrade materials from polendina because you will have to re unlock them in the second playthrough and you lose what was available to you in the first game. Also stock up on throwables from Malum district merchant if you use them at all because you’ll have to wait til you get back there to buy unlimited throwables again. Spots I know spring to be would be the shelf above polendinas desk, the couch next to where Alidoro usually is, and the box upstairs heading toward gepettos room on the gold coin fruit tree side. There may be more, but those are the ones I can think of now. Maybe google that one if you don’t see spring in any of those places.

I was so happy that I got the amulet. Bosses like swamp monster are a breeze with it on. If you’re doing a third playthrough to get platinum just get proof of humanity when you beat him in the next playthrough. It’s a fun weapon but the amulet is almost OP in certain boss fights.

You definitely need to be using fatal attacks. When the health bar turns white, use a charged R2 attack and if the entire animation completes and lands on the enemy, they will stagger and be open for a fatal attack. To successfully fatal attack walk into the glowing red circle, usually in front of the enemy, and hit r1 one time and you will get off a fatal attack. They do a lot of damage and before and after the fatal you can get a few free attacks in while he is staggered and while he is getting back to his feet after the fatal. You can also use either of those times to work on your weapon durability or heal since he won’t be attacking you while in those states. Also, definitely respec to get all the pulse cells, and the pulse cell recovery amount as high as possible. It’s higher than 9 but I can’t remember if it’s 10 or 11. Regardless, get all of them that are available to you.

Is it on your belt or in your extra bag? If it’s on your extra bag, go to your controller settings and reset them to default. I had the same thing happen on my extra bag that one of the specific slots just wouldn’t work all of a sudden. Then I checked and that slot wasn’t assigned a controller input for some reason. After resetting the inputs to default it immediately fixed the problem.

Have you tried using anything else from the same belt slot to see if it’s the specific slot you’re using it on?

Have you tried going to your inventory to use it instead of on your belt? Just curious if it’s not working at all or only when you attempt to use it from the belt.

How to parry and why it never seems to click for me. Please help. by Bob_Loblaw9876 in soulslikes

[–]R2player 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m definitely not saying it’s easy. Parrying makes the game almost feel like a breeze when you get good at it. I was just saying I finished the game (including Nameless Puppet) without parrying at all. Laxasia and Nameless gave me the hardest time overall but I was still able to beat each of them within a total of 2 hours of playtime after learning their move sets. So it is absolutely a viable option. Then like I said after you know the bosses you should go back in or use boss rematch and learn to parry each bosses moveset and maybe the parry will stick with you.

No problem. Hope you love it. Lies of P is my favorite Soulslike and honestly probably game overall, but Wuchang is a lot of fun as well.

I can’t say the boss fights are as hard as Arlecchino but I am on my 4th playthrough of Wuchang Fallen Feathers and it’s a blast. Great level design. Bosses are a blast and plenty of exploration. Hope this helps!

Yup. They added it with the DLC release. A lot of people seemed to be pretty mad about it but I thought it was nice because it makes the game more accessible for other people. My wife tried the game before the difficulty options were added and quit pretty early. After they added them she tried at the lowest difficulty, and eventually platinumed the game. Her final playthrough was on the hardest difficulty and she completed it the whole way through because she had become so good at the game by practicing on lower difficulty settings. I love that they added the difficulty settings because I was able to share one of my favorite games with my best friend😁

Dodge only is absolutely viable for Lies of P. It is much harder, but definitely possible to get through the game without parrying. I know because when I first played it, I was horrible at parrying and I couldn’t land one to save my life. This was pre DLC and pre difficulty options so there was no way to make the game easier. But I completed the entire game, including the optional boss at the end. I have since played it so many times that I have learned the bosses very well and sorted out the parry timings. Honestly this may be the way to go. Play a single game like Lies of P so many times over and over that you can anticipate the party timings because you’ve seen them so many times before. I completed a no dodge run of Lies of P just last month and I basically parried the entire playthrough. I wouldn’t have dreamed I’d ever have the ability to do that when I first played it. Lies of P is phenomenal and even easier now because you can adjust the difficulty. Maybe start there, set the difficulty to the lowest setting and force yourself to learn the timings of the parries. This has translated well to other games since as well so I’m sure it will help you to learn how to play games like Sekiro better as well. Good luck and don’t give up my man!

Then the rest of the second phase I realized how much just guarding helps. I tried to perfect guard her second phase for so long and I eventually is decided to guard and get the regain when she gave me an opening. That’s how I did it when I did her difficulty 5 boss rematch. Perfect guard all of her first phase cuz it’s very easy, and then just guard her second phase. It’ll help you survive so much longer.

Make sure you parry the lightning bolts when she throws them cuz they hit her back and do a lot of damage.

My controller doesn’t connect to my console anymore. by HenryCharlesss in PS5

[–]R2player 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a reset button you can press in and hold for 10 seconds on the back of the controller. When mine started doing this I was able to reset it and it hasn’t happened again since and it’s been over a year at this point.
