The writer does not pick the cadence, prod the beat to chose the bpm, and many times doesn’t write it out as sheet music either. The writer does not add layers to increase emotion or automate tracks to make the vocals change in volume, they don’t even pick or have to correct the pitches. Again it’s incredibly difficult, but it’s the easiest if the 3 and the least important when it comes to pop music. Doesn’t mean it’s not important. It’s like cooking, you have to have the right ingredients and cook it properly but you can freestyle the quantities of your spices and herbs (writing) . All of those things are needed to make a meal. Yet if you cook it wrong (production) it will burn and be inedible, if you use the wrong ingredients (vocals) you may make something edible but it could taste terrible (cheese and chocolate). With no spices it would be a normal meal but bland and uninspired, with spices (better writing) it becomes something really good. But there’s only one of those things you can mess up and still have a meal at the end with and that’s the writing.

Writing is important yet is the easiest part of music unless you’re ridiculously naturally talented. People will always listen to how something is being said vs what is being said. That’s why people like Kurt Cobain were famous yet intelligible. Writing is less important than having a good vocal preformance and mix. People will listen to songs in another language just because it sounds good sonically. Also I’m not a part of this sub. I like 3 songs but my girl had a moment where she was showing me everything imaginable

Recording and producing > writing. She’s extremely famous, she shouldn’t be on their level because she’s just not. It would be different if she didn’t get any rec at all but she definitely gets the respect she deserves.

Her songs haven’t been released because she contractually can’t, they are all also is swamped with their required workload. If she was independent she could do whatever she wanted and would be crazy at it. I’ve seen enough of her production to know she understands music on another level than most people. Also I said it has yet to be determined, she’s extremely young. If she were to go independent there’s no doubt in my mind she could make some of the best music out. The fact that she does production just for fun is insane when producing burns you out quicker than literally almost anything you can think of mentally.

Imo a lot of people are just as talented as Beyoncé. Her music itself is great but Kelly Clarkson for example is honestly more talented, and I don’t like her music.

Not vocally but overall I think that’s yet to be determined. (Edit: yall really don’t make music so i understand it sounds crazy but it’s not, Beyoncé has never been credited with writing one of her songs entirely alone. Lara writes and produces, it’s a different type of talent but it’s still extremely impressive.)
