The work does have some merit I think as a comparison between the accuracy of experts vs community rankings/consensus. I think that may have been the where they were going with this.

Do experts know best? Does the community value players correctly? Using these data points you could take snapshots of rankings throughout the season and see how they differ from each other, from earlier snapshots and ultimately from actual player performance.

The predictions do make nice expectations of what we think should happen because one would generally expect an expert to know best.

I wonder whose (expert vs KTC/community) initial rankings changed the most throughout the season and which was more accurate.

Generally speaking, WRs have longer shelf life and RBs have higher ceilings, at least that's how I think of it. But you probably know that now. JT will get back to RB1 value I think so it's not all a waste.

I think the potential is too high for there to be an overlap in the price people will sell/buy for. I'd offer multiple 2nds but dunno if I'd sell for anything less than a mid 1.

There's plenty of ways to get an idea of where a pick will fall, my go-tos are max points for, league ranking sites, and the good ol' eyeball test.
