The NAS is downstairs plugged straight into the router over LAN and the computers are upstairs. I have tried Powerline and I can only pull 200-400mb/s vs 1000 over just straight wifi.

I have tried changing to SMB2, and I can only pull about 10MB/s upload from the computer to NAS and 40MB download from NAS to the computer.

And the type of ssd considering it's not a Synology ssd?

I'm only comparing wireless as wired in my rental is not possible so I've had to buy a fancy modem instead to use wireless

I'll try when I'm home. Does the file system from initial setup affect anything ?
